Soccer Field Markers
Has anyone out there in amateurs heard of and/or been using permanent corner field markers? They are installed permanently on the pitch at corners/halfway and assist in pitch marking and corner flag location. They are installed below grade and sometimes come with artifical turf on them. Does anyone have a contact of a company that supplies or installs them in SA?
Re: Soccer Field Markers
We use them at Fulham with our 6 pitches - makes life a hell of a lot easier when marking the pitches at the start of the year.

Do you mean this sort of thing?

They are just radio transmitters, the deeper they have to be, the more powerful you need - You need the reader - much more expensive - as well as these "tags".
(Note: Those linked are USA, but you can get same/similar products over here ... no need to pay a premium for ones with pictures of balls/goals on them, either ;) )
I considered suggesting something very similar, a couple of years ago, for two reasons:
1. The guy who marked pitches at the club I was helping out at, was leaving ... He was an expert at marking new pitches out (remarking easy, new pitch on blank canvas not so blimmin' easy!)
2. The facilities are council owned and shared amoungst a number of clubs, often there are small issues over what is allowed to be placed where ... especially when change-of-use occurs.
In the end it went no further, as someone said to me, while I was raving about it ... just bury a coin and buy a cheap metal detector ;)

Re: Soccer Field Markers
The pitch markers come in white, dark blue, yellow and red.
Boxes of 25 include the installing tool or the tool is available at $13.50 each.
Cost of markers is $7.50 each plus GST - depends how many corners, 18 yard box corners etc you want done.
Works great - can easily see the markings.

(Just for my interest, saddo that I am) ...bigpond wrote:The pitch markers come in white, dark blue, yellow and red.

Are these buried, or do they stay "on the surface"?
(The issue I was thinking about solving meant we wanted to "hide" the markers, then random 'erberts couldn't come along and - easily - move them ... Not that Random 'erberts wouldn't have come along and buried a horde of coins, just for fun! ;))
Re: Soccer Field Markers
They are just under the surface but you can easily see the markings - lawn cutting etc doesn't affect them and you got buckleys chance of trying to pull them out once they are in.Cruie wrote:(Just for my interest, saddo that I am) ...bigpond wrote:The pitch markers come in white, dark blue, yellow and red.
