If we finish 3rd I think we can put our head between our legs and kiss our ass goodbye, 2 wins or bust

Thankfully the pool is diluted a bit, with Brazil not involved.

The 5th South American place-getters will be absolutely determined to make the 2014 Finals being held in their backyard (in neighbouring Brazil) as it were.

If then successful, South America will have an incredible 6 out of 10 of it's members at the 2014 Finals, counting Brazil as hosts. Testament to South Americans' ability and ball mastery?

Still for us, a way to go yet. Even if we win one and only draw the other of the reamaining two games, Jordan could beat Oman. A lively Jordan beat both Japan and us in Amman.

Socceroos are facing the prospect of having to clear 1998 and 2002 hurdles in one leap just to get to 2014

I agree he faded after late in first half , maybe lack of fitness.

Definitely same goes with Holman and Neill.

Sensational atmosphere at the game,

The Japanese were extremely friendly and chanted in unison from start to finish, and went mental at the final whistle.

Well worth the effort of getting to Tokyo

Sensed the tremendous spectacle here too, even though only experienced direct through TV on FoxSports.

ps, someone at work mentioned his son & daughter-in-law were in Japan for the game. Mr X, any connection to SAASL side Ingle Farm?
