I don't think for 67 million Euro anyone would be keeping anyone, apart for maybe Messi and Ronaldo.Nice One Cyril wrote:Doesn't look like you'll keep Cavani thoughBlue Mastiff wrote:Napoli confirming that they are the most exciting team to watch in this seasons edition of Serie A
Cagliari played a great game and thought after the equaliser, that the game would have the similar ending in the Bologna 2-3 home loss
Bit lucky with Cavani's offside goal but Insignes winner could prove automatic CL qualification.
Put simply we need to defeat Pescara this weekend and win our 2 remaining home games v Inter and Siena and CL is accomplished
If he goes we will be able to strengthen very well in every department, hopefully at the back more than anywhere else.
I love little Insigne, local hero and legend!!!

So, what do you lot think of the Fat Waiter?

Re: SSC Napoli
With Benitez confirmed it is likely that we will be playing a 4-2-3-1 formation.
I reckon we have the cattle to make it work, with a couple of additions to strengthen.
I know that he hasn't really been linked to us, but I think Jovetic would be IDEAL in this formation....
Assuming Cavani stays (speriamo) and with the likely departure of Zuniga and maybe Inler, I would love to see this for Napoli next year.
De Sanctis
Maggio-Cannavaro-ASTORI-Armero
Behrami-RAMIRES
JOVETIC-Hamsik-Insigne
Cavani
Probably a bit hopeful but a man can dream....

not very happy with the appointment of the waiter!
yes, he has the runs on the board in Europe, but domestically he is very average at best!
I would rather win the scudetto than do very well in Champs league!

Domestically he took Liverpool to within 4 points of a very very good Man Utd.
What did he win in Spain?? Nothing????? Idiot look at the facts, he won 2 La Liga titles leaving Real Madrid and Barca in his wake.
Real and Barca you twit.
Two UEFA/Europa Leagues
Two Champions League Finals
UEFA Supercup, FA Cup, World Club Cup.
Just because you are a Manchester United Whore, doesnt mean you cannot remain subjective.
If this doesnt work out, the De Laurentiis will sack him and move on, he only signed for two years anyway.

oh dear
granted he did well with Valencia in 2001-04 winning x2 titles and eufa cup
and winning Champs league with liverpool which they stole from milan
but look at he mess he left liverpool, as well as the fact he nearly destroyed their team with his lack-lustre signings...
oh and his time at Inter, yeah that was amazing!
I dont drink sangiovese, not my type of win....
neways, sticks and stones...
as i said, not happy with appointment considering Montella and Di Canio could of been better signings!
newwys, time will tell. Hopefully I am proved wrong!

Re: SSC Napoli
But how would you know if Montella and Di Canio were even available.
Sticks and Stones.
Lets rationalise and talk facts - unfortunately you and facts are incompatible, but I will try.
Stole the CL from Milan... was it rightfully Milan's in the first place???
"Granted he did well at Valencia and Liverpool"... um I guess a few major trophies would factually suggest he did fairly well.
Inter - he won the World Club Cup and that was always going to be a tough job given Mourinho's standing at the club and being in the hearts of the players.
So what else would you like in a Manager?? Please explain.
Montella is still a rookie and yet unproven - has no European pedigree and if you might recall, we will be playing in Europe next season in the Champions league.
Di Matteo, would have been ok but obviously De Laurentiis thought otherwise.
I think Liverpool erred letting him go in all honesty, but again we dont know the full story and never will. And how did he leave the club and what bad signings were there? Admittedly every Manager signs rubbish - look at Bebe, Buttner, Djemba Djemba, Kleberson, Taibi Bellion Obertan.............
Do we want to keep talking about facts?
Look, just stick with Man Utd, probably best for all concerned.

Re: SSC Napoli
Of course Liverpool erred bigtime letting him go.
The decision to fire him and bring in Hodgson ( ) was made by one man who thought he was playing football manager.
What he will do, if given the authority, is future proof the club with a very good youth setup.
His biggest legacy to Liverpool was the academy and youth setup he battled for. Which three years on is beginning to show the fruits of his abrasiveness against reluctant owners who didn't see the value.
The downside, he will clash with your president if control of football matters is done over his head and/or promises are broken regarding signings.

De Sanctis getting on, been hearing a lot about young Greek GK Kapino perhaps making the move to Napoli. What situation would he find himself in if the deal does go through?

Apparently Kapinos is done (free transfer?) dont know much about him. The latest is De Sanctis to Roma (Stekelenburg to Fulham) and Reina to Napoli.

Kapinos isn't bad, not first team material yet.
Re: SSC Napoli
Will get there I believe, had some big names chasing him last year. Hope he develops well at Napoli, would solve the national team's GK problemThe Kop wrote:Reina is Barca or bust.El Pibe D'Oro wrote:Apparently Kapinos is done (free transfer?) dont know much about him.
