I think in this instance they are talking about the West adelaide v's Modbury game being played on Sunday and that Trimboli (being coach of Modbury) would need to attend as Coach rather than play for the Downs.

Maybe a spot on the Downs bench is a greater achievement than being in the starting 11 of a Fed team? You would have to say the Downs team currently would probably hold their own against a few Fed teams.
