Grove 0 - Abe 1. Fair result in the end we don't have the personnel to put the ball in the back of the net. Could well be playing div 3 next year if we don't find a decent striker to put the ball away or a decent coach that knows what he's doing

I don't know mate, if he did have water squirted on him I think he is well within his rights to pull the pin on the game, otherwise individuals assume that this type of behaviour is acceptable.

The only example of "weak" behaviour is for a supporter to interfere in the game and threaten or act aggressively towards an official and for others to allow, or dismiss this type of behaviour as minor.

Cheers pecker im everywhere on the park but not on the forum but thanks for thinking of me maybe look somewhere else closer to home i dont give two shits what happens at the grove like you major sponsors and clubmen once said to me we would rather be a financially stable div 2 or 3 club then struggle in div 1 and maybe div 3 is where you should be

Look, I don't want to cause angst because we have an excellent relationship with Brahma but I'm not sure at what point you consider it appropriate that ANY spectator throw ANYTHING at a ref, whether it be water or not. Especially since the supporter who did it, did it from three deep like a coward, when the ref had his back turned to the crowd signalling for the Brahma marshals to remove another supporter who had verbally abused the ref and had almost entered the field of play to remonstrate.

All this whilst the Brahma coach watched from the other side of the park - I truly feel for him: completely powerless to stop what was happening and these alleged actions possibly costing his team points, as Brahma had just scored a pen and had momentum.

There was an almost identical 'water squirting' incident towards a referee in an FFSA game last year or year before. It was classified as assault as it could not be determined whether there was a hazardous substance in the bottle or not. I think the guy got banned for a couple of years.
Either way, it's a display of aggression and the referee did the right thing.

The A Grade coach for Para Hills was sent off at MP yesterday for abusing the ref. Their marshal was lucky he wasn't sent too for being a smartarse toward the ref in the resulting conversation.

Otherwise a good day at Para with all three teams picking up the points and well in to the Para Hills lads that sat around till almost close drinking with the MP boys, good bunch of lads down their. Good to see clubs mingling with each other after games, only wish we could re-pay the favour to Para Hills at their ground...
