Yeah went to the game... only good thing was the 2 goals... absolute cracker by the Jordanian midfielder from all of 40 yards, worth the meager entry fee alone!

Very dissapointing to see the amount of feigning injury by the Jordan players, we are just so not used to that kind of thing in Australia (it is unAustralian). I think the ref was getting sick of it too (just to note i thought he had a good game).

Funniest part of the night... We left about 1 minute to the end of full time and as we (my dad and i) were getting in the lift he said:
"Quick press number 1 and close the door quick..." So we closed the lift door (my dads a wog and always wants to "beat traffic" even though there was only a couple thousand people there...anyway)
We got to level 4 (going down from 5) and a couple of really fit guys decked out in Aussie attire got in... and my dad's like "Hurry close the doors" and as he is frantically pressing the close button Graham Arnold is heading to the lift... and he's like hurry hurry... so it was so funny to see Graham Arnolds face as the door closed on him and then you just saw him going towards the stairs...

I guess it was one of those "you had to be there moments"!!!

Kristian Sarkies scored a neat goal in the 58th minute.

Good build up play up the guts of the Jordanian defence (in fact dissapointingly ALL of the Aussies play was up the guts of the defence, resulting in the obviously poor performance overall) but anyway on this occasion the strength, and skill of Adelaide's own Bruce Djite was on show for all to see when he held the ball up long enough for Sarkies to get into the box and the layed it on a platter for him.

every single time Aust were on the momentum a Jordan player would just drop to the ground liek a sniper had pinged him off

pathetic display and we should have seen more yellow cards

ref was soft!

I thought for a moment there I was watching General Hospital or MASH with the stretcher being brought onto the field so often!
And #8 for Jordan - Alsaify what a pest!
F.O.F.A. - The closest thing to F.I.F.A. you'll ever get!

I thought the full back, 'Asif' and the right winger, 'Asificanplay' had good games while the goalie 'Alnoidea' was average.

The Qantas Under 23s have been denied a win by a remarkable long-range goal four minutes from full time in their Beijing Olympic qualifying match against Jordan at Hindmarsh Stadium in Adelaide.

Midfielder Ahmad Alzugheir struck a blistering 30-metre equalizer to cancel out Kristian Sarkies 58th minute goal and ensure the match finished 1-1.

Australia looked likely victors striking the frame of the goal on three occasions, while at the other end of the field Australian goalkeeper Danny Vukovic was rarely called into action. Vukovic debuting as captain in place of regular skipper Mark Milligan who was omitted on match day as a precautionary measure with a hamstring complaint.

The Qantas Under 23s struck the frame of the goal on three occasions in the second half but were unable to secure the crucial second goal. Sarkies was the first to hit the crossbar with a superb free kick after 53 minutes, only to then score five minutes later finishing off fine lead-up work from Mark Bridge and Bruce Djite.

Substitute Troy Hearfield hit the underside of the crossbar within minutes of entering the fray late in the match while Adrian Leijer’s glancing header also hit the top of the bar with two minutes remaining.

The result leaves Australia on two points following their opening round scoreless draw against Iran in Tehran a fortnight ago. The other Group D match will be played overnight and will see Saudi Arabia host Iran.

Australia will now meet Saudi Arabia in Adelaide on Wednesday 28 March before a third and final home match against Iran in May.

The top two teams will progress to the third and final stage of qualifying, where 12 nations will be split into three groups.

The third stage will be held from August 22 - November 21, with only the three group winners representing Asia at the Beijing Olympic Games.
