Too early to call. Everyone's beating everybody at the early stages. No clear cut team.

Actually. only Knights are beating everybody. however i think you'll find Knight15's comment was tounge in cheek based on some erlier predictions of tables based on some pre season results. Agree its way too early to call, but i think Knights belting Munno Para away is a massive result and says they are a real contender. Shaping up to be a cracker of a season i reckon

Nathan,s was especially nice. Can't beat experience and wise heads. Damon Daiglish best on ground again for the 3rd time in a row, bit of a find this year.....
Legless is was a cracking game end to end can't say I'm happy with

I'd like to thank the ABE guys for literally eating and drinking us out of house and home yesterday. Great bunch of lads. Good luck for the rest of the year. Your team is much better than the results suggest.

Only when you play San Marco. At their ground last year, post game the bar shut up shop and we ended up going down the road to the local pub. In the last game of the season when we had a pig on the spit, SM players didn't even hang around. Sounds pretty true to form from the boys in blue.

Had the game been 1-1 at the break things may have been a little different in thesecond half but we snuck one in right before the whistle and our guys were on a high from then on.

Could only fit in the two servings of chevaps this time around but once again, top shelf!

Yeah... maybe you're right... although to be honest I was very dissapointed with our performance in general. We just looks lathargic... its ok having quality players... but you gotta have the heart and fortitude to want to win and grind it out... I just think on Sunday we didnt have this.

We did against the blue eagles when we were behind 2-1 at the half... however... we need 90 mins of good play...

Everyone gets a hard on about Pre-season, playing Downs, Gardens and Fulham was a good idea, shame we didn't have full squads but people often make commitments Pre-season - will gladly look at playing some quality teams next year. Last year we had hardly any Pre-season games and lost the first 7 league games this year we had 6 or 7 games and are better for it

As always well done Swanny

It's a fine line though, too many games preseason can lead to players breaking down as the season progresses. 6 or 7 preseason games and a reasonable cup run takes you close to 30 games.

Well in to Knights in picking up 3 points on the road, unfortunately costing them two suspensions nex tweek (Cup Round 1 ) as they were reduced to 9 men (due to 2 yellow cards)
Munno Para also lost a player due to 2 yellow cards in what was a hard fought but not overly aggressive game...both teams gave and took for the full 90 minutes.
Special congrats to David Mooney who picked up 2 goals making him the highest league goal scorer in Southern Knights 19 season history, moving 2 goals ahead (64) of Glen Walsh (62).
Aaron O'Toole opened the scoring early in the game and David Mooney converted from the spot minutes later.....Knights took a 0-2 lead to the break but were reduced to 10 men just before half time.
After the break David Mooney was on hand to head home Knights 3rd. from a Jamie Faulkner corner.
Munno Para pulled a goal back heading home from a well taken free kick...it may have been 3-2 later when Stephen Maguire did well to tip a goal bound strike over the bar.
Eventually substitute Anthony "Diamond N D Rough" Micheal capped it off with a 4th for Knights just before the final whistle.

Reserves
Munnno Para ( 1 ) Southern Knights ( 1 )
....................................Charlie Hollis

A good fighting knock for a slightly undermanned Knights Reserves today with Charlie Hollis putting the visitors in front early.
Munno Para pulled a goal back in the second half from a free kick that Phill Smith parried onto the crossbar only to see Para first to pounce.
I might be completely off here, but don't league suspensions have to be served for league games (making them eligible next week, but having to serve the suspension the week after)?

I may be off the mark too, but I think you will find that the referee did not give you your players card back (they are sent to the SAASL headquarters) and initial 1 match suspension is immediate, Cup games inclusive....if the disciplinary committee decides on more than one game, based on the referee's report, then more are added on !

I thought I remembered a few years ago when one of our players had to serve a suspension from a cup round in a cup round, but maybe not. I guess that would get really messy to police (and problematic if a player is shown a red and his team goes out). Certainly helps MP out to have suspensions served this week (with a really soft cup draw).
