Southern knights vs beograd

Bs 1-3
As 6-4

Playing in gale force winds suited the knights who were obviously used to the monsoon weather ;)

Well played by them. Knights play well at home I have always said this. No different today.

Gardens Vs farm

A's
3:2 - Gardens with a late winner. Didnt see the first half but Farm had more of the ball in the second half. Couple of good effort from distance but no clear-cut chances. Gardens with only the one real chance in the second half and made it count. No doubt there will be some whinging about the ref after this game.... and rightly so.... he was terrible, but he was consistantly terrible both ways. Lots of challenges flying in, some from behind, but both sides were doing it and both were frustarted by the lack of control the ref had on the game.

B's
2:2 - Farm had a 2:0 lead late in the second half until Gardens scored twice in 3mins. Farm def threw this one away! Special mention to jogger for missing an absolute gimme, about 3yrds out, unmarked with the keeper stranded.... went the specky back heel and got nothing but fresh air 8)

C1's
2:3

C2's vs Athelston
2:3

when was the last time a player at the Vale scored more than 15goals in a season? Lavo has that number well in his sights already! Great to see him off to a flyer..

was that on the half way line when the 2 gardens guys and 1 farm player ended up on the floor? I missed the throat grab, but it looked a bit firey over there. Honestly, neither side shouldve finished with 11 on the park...

Certainly was, chief, Ennis and Louie went in for a challenge together. Dave and Paul got up and went toe to toe, so Ebomo put his hands around Daves neck. Should have been play on to begin with, not a foul.

agreed about it not being a foul to begin with... Ebomo got his team mate when he went in for the ball and Ennis didnt get anyone... play on IMO.

Toby B.O.G (at least in the 2nd half)... and Phil worked hard up front too... Gardens defense was just well organised. You lads looked better going forward this week than last... harsh that youre still on no points.

Well done to Pontians today.

2 goals in 2 mins in the 1st half killed Fulham but Pontians deserved the points and well done.

Beograd keeper best on ground today could have been a lot different if it wasn't for him

Southern Knights ( 6 ) Beograd Generals ( 4 )
Jamie Faulkner 3
David Mooney 2
Robert Marsden

Reserves
Southern Knights ( 1 ) Beograd Generals ( 3 )
Anthony Micheal

Knights put together some great passages of play today with an outstanding first half. Wasn't just raining raindrops but it was raining goals down at O'Sullivan Beach....14 goals in 2 games...entertaining for all who braved the conditions.
Great effort from Andy Alvino and Iain Stewart to step into the side due to injuries to Ben Jones and Lee White....both were excellent.
Jamie Faulkner finally grabbing a brace with a hat-trick and David Mooney with a penalty and a 40 metre fee kick grabbed 2...Robert Marsden followed up his 2 last week with another today.
Special mention to the Beograd boys who en masse came in for beers and a bit of joviality...good bunch of lads. Thought they might grab the game when then fought back from 5-2 down to make it 5-4 and had a bit of momentum. Also some excellent stops and saves by their keeper.
