Is it a requirement in the SAASL?????

I would suggest Bars and BBQ's are more a priority....Get this right than move on to stretchers... :D

Missing a couple and not all played today, was a good mix of old and new in the Vipers A & B squads....

Can only see us getting better with a few more games but will be a tough div this year, tougher than last season if you can believe that. Hard to pick a standout side.

Sat 5

ACU 3 - 1 Mt Compass

I had to work, but pretty disappointed nonetheless. Back to the drawing board.

Dan Christison made some unbelievable saves. Best in the business.[/quote]

Good old Dan. Great keeper, even better bloke! Good to hear the old man's still got it. If you play with him, tell him Rosats from Salisbury Villa says G'day, and tell him I said to give his bro Josh a kick in the shins for me.

The fact you were getting a pizza sounds more exciting then our performance at Stirling today. B's was 6-1, very poor performance from us today and Stirling were just too good. Embarrassing result for us considering we won 1, drew 1, and lost a cup game against them in extra time last season. These results were with a worst team on paper then what we have this year IMO. Have always enjoyed our usually close, and fierce battles with Stirling, so today was not good enough from our point of view, and all credit to Stirling, who seem to have the same bunch of lads from last season, but obviously put in the yards preseason, and look fit and well organised.

Again credit to Stirling for their A's win. Always a tough ground to get a result but scoreline probably doesn't tell the whole story IMO. Pretty sure the end result was 4-1. Villa gave away two silly penalties (no arguments really, ref had every right to call them), and 4th goal was an own goal by way of an unfortunate deflection. Have to admit I only started watching the game from Villa's goal on wards as I was still trying to recover in the showers from my reserves game (hurt after an unplanned all nighter the night before, and attempting to run for 90mins  ). Stirling are well organised and fit, but not much difference between the two teams in terms of skill and ability to knock it around. Stirling played the long ball for the most part (from what I saw). I think it was fairly well dealt with by the Villa back line, especially in the second half. Second half Villa really dominated possession in their attacking half, but struggled with the final ball, and couldn't convert the chances they did have. A fair final result based on game play probably would have been a 2-1 Stirling win, but it was 4-1, good for Stirling, bad for Villa, and Stirling worthy winners. Lessons to learn for our A's and B's, and we'll be looking to fix things next week and get a positive result.

Villa hopes the Stirling lad in the reserves didn't hurt his knee/ankle too badly and wish him a speedy recovery. Same goes to the A's stopper who clashed heads with our player.

Nice to play on Stirling's ground in summery conditions for the first time.

A's - 2-1
B's - called off two minutes in, one of our players broke his ankle. Had a 45-minute friendly which Cougars won 3-1
C's - 1-1
So Cougars still have their C team because was looking at the league website and doesn't have them listed in Div 7c???
Well, we played 11 guys in a blue and yellow shirt today! Seems like whatever issue they had with the playing stocks has been resolved.

Yes we did have a stretcher, however the injury was severe and the player was in an huge amount of pain. It took the Paramedics a good 30 mins to get him on their stretcher and in the ambulance.

Div 4:
A Grade: Strathalbyn 5 d Nth Wolves 2
B Grade Nth Wolves 8 d Strathalbyn 1

Huge thanks to Nth Wolves for putting on free food after the game for us. Also think the league owes the wolves a favour for entering in a team at late notice in div 4 to make it an even 10 teams.

I recall playing them in Div 5, and they did similar (however most players had prior commitments, however I will be making players aware if they are doing this all year).

And yes, thanks Wolves :)

Ah, from the team lists on the web site; div 5's now single team clubs, and div 6 is C teams only, I'm assuming... Good luck for your season.
