No way. The way Sturt stiched up Fulham the other week, they will definitely chalk up the 3 points.

Good luck to both teams.

Great to read that SM are the pace setters. New name on the tips of the tongues of football supporters. Graet for the game. HArd work has paid off for them.

I do hope that the lighting has improved. Years ago games were played there and the lighting was barely adequate for training let alone games.

I believe it has had an upgrade, even their Men's team have some night games scheduled during the season as well.

SMWSC needs to keep tighter at the back this time, no conceding soft goals!

With A.Faul, S. Black and K. Moore they are a real force. After beating Fulham comprehensively they will also beat AC who are having a bad period. They'll be 1st on the ladder with 9 points tonight IMO.

Sturt have had a strong preseason & new players joining the squad has meant that they have had to work hard to secure a spot in the side. It's Kristy moore's last game tonight before she heads off to play in LA. There is some great football to be seen tonight!

Well done to Metro getting up over Uni last night! Ness Reed scored a cracking goal!

I believe Sturt could really give City a hammering tonight. City have seemed to have lacked confidence and self belief leading up to the season and in their first game. With Sturt having gained some quality players and having Kristy Moore pairing up with Sally Treharne up front...looking forward to some great football tonight!

A.City are a very young team coming from a great season last year and maybe are a bit "relaxed" so Sturt will have the opportunity to smash them. They are full of confidence and have great players so definitely favourites tonight. Unfortunately it's KM's last game otherwise they could win the league.

The Sturt girls put on at least 3 goals in the 2nd half last game against Fulham, With Out KM. She will be missed but the team showed they can play good football with or with out Kristy

Unbelievable some of the comments

Sturt bought there team and already some girls in reserves want out after being prems.
City team has class, people forget they stitched uni up 3-0.

Sturt beat a very poor Fulham team that are close to falling apart as a club.

Two rounds in and talk like this... purely mind blowing.

Hang on- Fulham not falling apart- they did 't play well and were missing MJ- players like that make a real difference. They shouldn't be underestimated in spite of a bit of a rocky start. There's lots of talent there.

Sturt will sorely miss KM- aside from her talent, her energy lifts the whole side and elder players with that talent and energy are gold dust in SA. Having said that, TB is right on in demanding commitment from his players. Show up to training or ride the bench. Compete for your spot. Excellent.

My picks are City and Metro- but Eduardo always does a great job in preparing his girls for higher levels of play and gets the girls to play good football. Should be an interesting season.

And I definitely don't think Sturt can win the league without KM.

City played a better game at the end of the day. Second half Sturt got it together but it was clearly to late... Certainly wasn't expecting that out come! Oh well I'm sure Sturt has learnt a few lessons from this.

Sturt has no lesson to learn! They have come from a season of finishing bottom of the ladder to being a competitive force in the the premier league in a matter of months. This should be celebrated because it has made our league more competitive.

It was disgusting the way Adelaide City supporters conducted themselves tonight. A parent even stuck his smug face into the bench of sturt Marion as if to say "sucked in" real mature guys!

The most ludicrous statement is the one about Fulham falling apart as a club. One game into the season and pundits picking who will win the League etc. Theres some real jokers on this forum.

Rumour has it that Sturt had some real "political" help to rebuild and a lot of ppl are quite upset about it. I expected them to be much better after their first two games instead they were given a lesson last night. They only looked for KM who was well controlled by AC defenders and looked unfit compared to the opposition. They also looked poorly organised, I heard they were very good but after watching nearly one hour last night I was disappointed. Didn't see Sturt's goal and AC's 5th but can't imagine the game being much different.

What did AC supporters do? Haven't heard anything

Up until GH quit Fulham, the club was positioning itself to challenge for the title with alot of enthusiasm and recruited new talent, but JS how many players have walked since GH quit? The warning signs are there already. Momentum and confidence in clubs can quickly turn for the worse in women's football. I hope Fulham can stabilize. The competition needs a strong and vibrant Fulham, just as it needs Cumberland in the same position.

Talk of sturt was 'smashing' city was ridiculous and premature. City will most likely go onto winning the league again.

I agree that the likes of Moore are priceless and sturt will not cover the loss in goals or the leadership and example she will provide. Whilst to their credit sturt have turned around their club and playing roster over the summer from a club who nearly fell over last year, the coaching staff have their worked cut out molding all these new players but most importantly managing the expectations of all these new players. It's an aspect of good coaching that is fundamental and often overlooked cause one may hold a certificate saying your qualified.

Excuse me? Unfit??? Are you serious? were you not watching the same game? city could not run out the full 90 minuts. They were dropping like flies with cramps and tired legs. City had 10 percent of the play in the second half and stopped running around 80 minute mark.. I believe that is fitness my friend, if there were another 10 minutes of play sturt would have been right back in it, and you know it! The only difference between the two teams last night was city won the mental battle in the first half hour and finished all their chances.

What about in the game vs metro? City's defence was shocking! You're not as organised as you like to think

SW, Things definitely look different now for Fulham than they did in January, but saying they are close to folding is ridiculous. So no nails in the coffin quite yet! :D

Overall I think Adelaide City deserved to win, Sturt didn't have the Determination that City had. But after half time Sturt lifted and gave City a run. If Sturt had the determination from the start it may have been a different result.

Unbelievable some of the comments on here. As a neutral, I would say that City really taught Sturt-Marion a lesson, particularly in the first half. City's intensity, fast attacking moves and finishing were excellent. It was inevitable that being so far in front and the amazing physical effort the City girls put in, that their intensity would drop off in the second half. Sturt-Marion lifted in the second half and created some chances, but City were by far the better team. This is despite the fact that SM were unlucky to not have scored a couple more late in the game. SM will worry teams and are definitely the big improvers, but City really are a well-drilled and organised side that will compete for the title.

P.S I don't think that the result reflected any lack of determination or fitness by the SM team. They were simply beaten by a better team.

P.P.S There is no way that anyone can say that City had 10% of the play in the second half. City too,had a few chances to add to the score as the game opened up in the second half. As for City players dropping off like flies,I only saw one City girl carried off due to cramp.

Well done to both teams. It was a great game to watch.

Interesting description, 'things definitely look different' ...

I don't agree that they are close to folding and they were never my words. I do see the start of a malaise I have seen at other clubs, where the club 4 months ago was all the vogue and attracting players to now the complete turnaround. Hence my hope that Fulham can stabilize and consolidate for the benefit of the league.

Players and parents unfortunately can be very fickle in the women's game and I sit back in amazement at the 'player movement' sometimes.

Fitbull, I attended the match as a neutral and enjoyed the company of friends from both Sturt-Marion and City. We watched from the side of the pitch between the boxes of both clubs. What is this "disgusting" behaviour you talk of? I do not recall any animosity between the two camps at all. At the end of the game everyone shook hands and there were no "verbals" between anyone.

I too was at the game and saw nothing from either camp, the game was played fast and strong as you would expect from 2 strong teams. All in good spirits a quality game from City and a honest game from Sturt.
