Re: Di Canio for the Mackems
He is a Fascist, which means he is a Right Wing - anti Left Wing believer, so he is completely opposite to beliefs of the vast majority of the Sunderland supporters.
Sunderland is, and always has been, a working class club supported by politically hardened Left Wing people who are as hard as nails and will not be afraid to vote with their feet if Di Canio doesn't achieve immediate results.
Should be an interesting month or so.

Owned by a hedge fund president, dyed-in-the-wool, capitalist. They don't seem overly principled about accepting his moneyOld Master wrote:He is a Fascist, which means he is a Right Wing - anti Left Wing believer, so he is completely opposite to beliefs of the vast majority of the Sunderland supporters.

Doubt the French will put up much resistance

They now have a controversial right winger to match their controversial left winger in mclean.

Controversy will happen regularly.
It's already started.

What the hell have his political views got to do with coaching a football team?

Nothing per se, and I see where you're coming from.Ciudad Juarez wrote:What the hell have his political views got to do with coaching a football team?
But coaching involves the whole package these days.
Attracting negative publicity for your club whereby sponsors have expressed major concerns, can adversely affect the club, it's funding and it's ability to source top players etc.
With all the pc bushit these days, it does matter. (unfortunately )

Sponsored by "invest in africa" an agreement with mandella day. Can you see where the sponsorship issue is going here?Ciudad Juarez wrote:What the hell have his political views got to do with coaching a football team?
It seems sunderland are happy to be sponsored by a terrorist and have a fascist as their manager.

The guy who appointed PdC is a multi-billionaire, so I don't think funding will be an issue somehow.kevinkeegan wrote:Nothing per se, and I see where you're coming from.Ciudad Juarez wrote:What the hell have his political views got to do with coaching a football team?

It's hard to imagine that the Durham Miners Union are kicking in more than Ellis Short. Tell the socialists where to stick their banner.

There's the problem with modern football - the fans will be there well after short and di canio have gone.

Re: Di Canio for the Mackems
So there is a foreign worker in England that is being actively targeted by their customers because of his political beliefs?
Sounds like a case for one of these freedom type groups.

How do you take up a case against against "customers" though? You can't force them through the turnstile or checkout.Brian the Postman wrote:So there is a foreign worker in England that is being actively targeted by their customers because of his political beliefs?

Customers may not be the right label in this case, it seems however politicians and the media as well as other organisations are overtly driving a campaign of discrimination against a foreign worker in the UK due to his political beliefs.God is an Englishman wrote:How do you take up a case against against "customers" though? Is this in contravention of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights? Which I believe the United Kingdom is a signatory to?

Don't be silly, that doesn't count for any right wing causes. People have been sacked in England for being members of the BNP. One couple were even refused to be foster parents as they were members of the UKIP, which is makes no judgement on race/colour etc..

It's a shame, this guy should be rotting in hell instead of coaching such a big team.

Re: Di Canio for the Mackems
Not to turn this into a political discussion, but it's always seemed perverse to me that so many hate Hitler for his extreme views and the millions that he killed, yet they laud Stalin, despite his extreme views and the many more millions that he killed.
Communism and fascism are opposite sides of the same coin.

sunderland has to be the prime example of this. Hate di canio for his views but happy to celebrate mandella day.

Gave Newcastle a sound thrashing today.
Time for some righteous indignation
Re: Di Canio for the Mackems
What a game. Newcastle unlucky to have a goal ruled offside but it was Sunderland's day. All 3 goals were crackers. It looks like the players are behind Di Canio.

Yes, that was unlucky, but the handball at the other end about 3 minutes later was just as unlucky.Ubietz wrote:What a game. Newcastle unlucky to have a goal ruled offside but it was Sunderland's day. All 3 goals were crackers. It looks like the players are behind Di Canio.

Good to see players finally living up to their potential. He has all the right ideas at the minute. Sess taking players on, and Johnson on the right and Mclean on the left is brilliant.

Is that Mignolet's best effort at a fascist salute?
