Draft Fixtures junior girls
Does anyone know what the FFSA justification is for the junior girl leagues U13, U15, U17 to be only playing 14/15 rounds this season not including cup rounds and why for U13 & U15 there is virtually a 4 week competition break and for U17 a 3 week break during July if any of these age groups dont make the cup semi finals.
How can teams maintain fitness etc when 3/4 of the way through the season they have that massive break and the season is shorten from the 21 round season last year to 14 round season this year?
How can fees be justified when there are 7 rounds less than the previous year?
Totally gob smacked no wonder womens football in this state is the way it is.

Re: Draft Fixtures junior girls
Can you please post a copy of the draft fixtures - I have been asking the FFSA about these today.
But if what your saying is true, it seems a huge setback for the girls game.

Very disappointing to see. Especially when the FFSA and FFA push on about development through games.thatsit wrote:Does anyone know what the FFSA justification is for the junior girl leagues U13, U15, U17 to be only playing 14/15 rounds this season not including cup rounds and why for U13 & U15 there is virtually a 4 week competition break and for U17 a 3 week break during July if any of these age groups dont make the cup semi finals.

I brought my daughter over from the boys league to the woman's league, and I can not beleive the gulf that exists between the two. The boys started on the 17th March and finish September 8th. A total of 18 games. This has been the norm for as long as I can remember.
Looking at the women's league -
- U13 - U15 play 14 games
U17 play 10 games
Div 1 - 2 play 14 games
Div 3 - 4 play 18 games
Re: Draft Fixtures junior girls
You ain't see nothing yet. Prepare to be disapointed throughout your daughter's career.

- U13 - U15 play 14 games
U17 play 10 games

Div 3 - 4 play 18 games
U13- U15 14 games

Spread out over how many weeks ?
Seriously ,are the powers that be just trying to crush the junior girls competition in this state ?
No player passes with photos on them thus opening the doors for rampant exploitation of the age groups.
If this is all getting too hard for the those in charge , why don't they just vacate their positions, advertise them to the public ( joke ), and let people that have the genuine interest of the competition and the girls apply.
Re: Draft Fixtures junior girls
What else can be expected with the lack of support and promotion of the game at grass roots level by the FFSA we can't expect the number of teams and thus rounds not to deminish.
I notice the lack of an U11's division, thats a realy bad sign if we cant manage to get girls out for the SCG then how are we expected to replenish player numbers U13's and above.
Very sad to see the game falling apart like this 4 years ago it looked OK when we got involved but it's realy taken a turn for the worst.

The U/17 comp only 10 rounds are you serious ? These girls will be playing senior football next year and you prepare them with a mickey mouse 10 round season . Most teams would have a longer pre season than actual season what a Shambles .....
Re: Draft Fixtures junior girls
Looks like there is a month missing for the U17 all the other girls finish end of August.
Every one needs to contact their club delegate to voice their concern over such a short season.

The goalkeeper is the jewel in the crown and getting at him should be almost impossible. It's the biggest sin in football to make him do any work.

I'm sure the FFSA will be offering a sliding scale for the fee's associated on a reduced amount of league games offered.M@rvin wrote:Looks like there is a month missing for the U17 all the other girls finish end of August.

Re: Draft Fixtures junior girls
After the teams have played once (July) the 17s are then supposed to be split in to 2 divisons depending on results to that time

What BEN9 said is correct - one round robin then split into two (for U17).
As for other divisions - 21 rounds (and sanity) prevails in Div 1 and 2. They have 3 rounds x 8 games = 24 matches to fit into the gaps, shouldn't be difficult if everyone works together (and gets knocked out of the cup early haha).

Re: Draft Fixtures junior girls
So there is going to be some kind of playoff's to determine final placings ?
Re: Draft Fixtures junior girls
Well done, looks like some common sense has been employed. It shouldn't be hard to play 24 or more matches, I'm sure most players at that level can handle a couple of weeks with two games by dropping a training session.Lucas Leiva wrote:What BEN9 said is correct - one round robin then split into two (for U17).

Though the U17's i s another mater. Looking more and more like a mickey mouse league. Hopefully more common sense is employed, very soon.

Re: Draft Fixtures junior girls
looks like the original list was published on april first and you were all pulled in hook line and sinker. Well maybe not but based on the comments made in this forum a premature judgement was made with not all the facts as usual. Can not believe some of the comments. Every season in every league the final list arrives one week before season starts and in all my years it has never changed and don't think it ever will, just like the cup it will be listed the week of the cup round. All leagues are the same and it would be nice to finalise it all early but so many things change weekly with teams in and teams out and every ones two bobs. I am suprised we even have a league let alone clubs especially when you see forums threads like this.
You made my day this thread is hillarious.

Unless the Women's side of the FFSA have a completely different process compared to the Men's and Boy's league, which I doubt, you may not be understanding the processes in regards to 'draft fixtures'.Left Wing Back wrote:looks like the original list was published on april first and you were all pulled in hook line and sinker. A draft fixture is released to clubs for their perusal and comment, this has happened every year in the Men's league for as long as I've been involved.
If no club finds fault or errors with the draft fixtures, the draft becomes the season fixture for the year (this is very rare due to many reasons).
If one or more of the clubs find an error or a discrepancy or a problem with the draft fixture, a report is sent to the FFSA with comments and suggestion. The the FFSA will then review all comments and make changes, where possible.
In this case the system has mostly worked, with the FFSA changing the fixtures by increasing games in most leagues. Except for the U17 league, which has only 11 rounds including a bye; 10 games per team.
For your information - April Fool is on 1st April, not before or after.

Re: Draft Fixtures junior girls
we got sent a draft of the leagues but were not sent the posting rounds as a draft it seems to have came from this forum only.
And yes april fools is only on april first and before midday
My girls got me a good april fools and if this thread was on april 1st I would have considered it as a great april fools joke. The reactions would have made it 10 out of ten in the april fools jokes. But yes as pointed out it was not on april first. I think it should have been put on the forum on april first as I cant believe how many believed that this was going to be the season, seriously people why would you have no cup rounds or stic listing and less than 14 rounds. why would it not be like what we have every year. Suprised so many got fooled by the posting of a never seen by me draft. Amazing how these forums can make so many believe facts that are actually incorrect.
As an apprentice a 60 year old tradesamn said to me "this internet thingy will be the destruction of society" I said "it will be great you can chat to your family in scotland face to face" he said "So many people will not be face to face and even if it is wrong it will just have more people believe it" I said " so are you saying its a bad thing" he said "no only the information written". I laughed then but he was right, this forum is as only as good as what is posted and he was right, just because it is written doesnt make it true.

Re: Draft Fixtures junior girls
Under 17 play each other once then broken into two divisions. that makes it 21 rounds for one div and 20 rounds for the other. Don't you know this information.
