**Serie A Coverage in Australia**

Post by El Matador CAVANI »

SERIE A Fans! The person responsible for allocating TV partner for Serie A in Australia is Beatrice Lee in Singapore. Please email her on beatrice.lee@mpsilva.com and express your comments.

The more people we get to email her the better!

She is fully aware of our position and she is in talks with pretty much every network. But the more people in Australia she hears from that will no doubt influence her also. There is a group on Facebook "Serie A fans in Australia" petitioning this to happen, join!

Especially here in Adelaide with the Juventus and Napoli clubs in place, will be great if OneHD or ESPN or Setanta or Fox Sports gain the rights so we can watch in high definition!

My iPhone could record a better picture than what is broadcasted on Setanta.

If the Knicks refused to sign the oftter, then joining in the Rockets will be Jeremy Lin’s first choice. The Rockets Authentic NBA Jerseys had been the stage of Yao Ming, who is also a Chinese- American. Rockets fans will enjoy from the nfl jerseys online front row and one Knicks fans will have to watch from afar, wondering what might have been had the franchise cheap nfl jerseys matched that offer.

Make sure your internet runs at a good speed is all I can say, as RAI no longer have the rights to broadcast matches in Australia. No station will be showing the matches.

It's a real shame, from four stations two years ago to none. I'm hoping someone comes along with a late bid but not holding my breath.

Rai now confirmed to be showing matches this season. Signed a one-year deal.
Italian broadcaster Rai has acquired a package of international rights for Serie A soccer from agency MP & Silva.

Rai, which shows Serie A highlights on free-to-air television in Italy, will show live games on its international satellite platform across the world. Rai International has around 200,000 subscribers in Central and South America, 100,000 in the US, 80,000 in Canada and around 50,000 in Australia.

The one-year deal is at a slightly lower rate than in previous seasons. Despite MP & Silva signing a three-year deal for international distribution rights to the Serie A at a rate of €117 million annually, a 30 per cent increase on their previous deal, the downturn in the Italian economy has meant broadcasters have not been able to keep pace with agencies.

Quotes from MP & Silva's Riccardo Silva in the Italian media suggest the agency "made a small sacrifice" in order to keep to the terms of their own contract that stipulate that best efforts must be made to distribute top-level Italian soccer to international territories with large Italian communities.

Normally it is on the Rai website (http://www.rai.it/dl/RaiInternazionale/home_.html) Not up at the moment - for the Saturday matches at least - because Rai did not have the rights when it was done. We'll see what's on there when next week is uploaded. But I think they'll be showing the usual five matches and have chosen Pescara v Inter as the main match 4:15am Monday. But that may be wrong, so we'll have to wait and see.

Does One still show any games (albeit delayed) and/or the highlights show?

Those big black satellites that all the old chocs have, have rai on it but I'm not sure if it's the same rai that you get on fox or one that's streamed directly from Italia (or another country). Does anyone know?
Dan Birdwell - You have to play this game like somebody just hit your mother with a two-by-four.

To answer the question months later, it is a different Rai. There are four Rai Internationals that go to regions around the world, the satellite one is the Asian Rai I believe. Doesn't show Serie A, just the national team. Maybe Serie B, it used to anyway, not sure about this season since Rai hardly show B anymore.

I looked into this when I first came over so that I could watch English Sky rather than Foxtel. Due to the curveture of the earth, it's not possible.

Same with Sky Italia I believe. Which is a shame, because if we could get the calcio coverage they have it would be beautiful.

Err yes, I've watched 90% of Juve matches on tv this season. The rest on the net.
