Re: man u cup results
I have to say imo the quality was not up with prior years.
I would be interested to see what 8 teams made the quarters in the say the last 4 years, vs this years teams, I can't recall so many C&B teams making the last 8.

I think it is a lot of sour grapes from some teams, maybe the lower teams are getting better and the better teams are not as good as they used to be? too much emphasis on looking good and pressure to win, rather than just playing football...........also know that some of the better clubs are already trying to poach some of the lower teams players!!!!!!!
Re: man u cup results
Fact is some clubs have promoted some of the 'better players' and have not dropped them for Man U Cup but some clubs pull down all age appropriate players. Not sure which is the better option....our club says once you r up that's where you stay and we play our usual Under 15 squad which I think is the fairer optin as far as those players are concerned. Depends what the philosophy is......develope your usual squad or create an illusion of strength at the expense of the normal squad. Each to their own.

I have said this before also, but for other comps, players should be registered as XX and can't go down, end of story. However this is a different situation and clubs should either send their best possible team or don't bother sending one, if they just want a trial game then arrange one.

What is the purpose of the tournament?
I think it would be a good idea to have a prestigious tournament when clubs field their strong possible side at u16 level from any player at the club. It would be a good talent id thing also.

So what is your point??

That there is at least 20 very good U15 players who didnt compete... so dont get too seriousDiego wrote:Huge1 wrote:Not sure if many are aware of this but the current NTC side playing in the U18 comp would have been age eligible to have completed in this years Manchester cup. Birks beat striker PS 5-4 I think after 1-1 at full time western strikers unlucky with some decisions from refs
West Adelaide beat croydon 2-0
West Adelaide 1-1 against birks at full time. West won on PS 5-4 I think.
Good luck to west Adelaide on winning the final and well done to the teams who played off in the finals.
