Pre Season Games
How are they going?
I've seen a few that certainly indicate a good standard for the season to come.

is this a misprint or a joke?StarStriker wrote:Under 16: Noarlunga 19 - 0 Western Strkers
if not, something is not quite right, unless they were playing much younger players.
But who gains from such a trial game?
In the old days 9-0 was the quintessential thrashing.
Inflation I guess.
Re: Pre Season Games
Unfortunately its no joke... The Western strikers also were hammered by Cumberland B's 14-0 the previous week.kevinkeegan wrote:is this a misprint or a joke?StarStriker wrote:Under 16: Noarlunga 19 - 0 Western Strkers

Both Noarlunga and Cumberland B's will be competing in a lower league than Western strikers this season!
This is no way meant to be critical of The Strikers players who gave there all but you do have to question the make-up of the leagues.

Re: Pre Season Games
any club can ask to go down, and many have. some clubs have even asked to not go up as they lost players and a relegated team went back up. Catch 22, a club asks to go down and maybe lose some players cos of the stigma of a 'C' side, yet staying in a league way better than you can handle, will possibly lose more players come season end.owl man wrote:They have to play para hills and birkalla in the first 3 weeks can't they ask to go down to the c's
Re: Pre Season Games
You can lose players after a couple of games they have para hills gawler then birkalla the first 3 games hope they don't but you can see it happening
Re: Pre Season Games
U/16 Noarlunga Utd 2 V Cumberland B's 0.
Good skills in very trying conditions... Noarlunga look to have at least 3 strong teams at junior level (U/14, U/15 and U/16), can see both the 14's and 16's dominating their leagues.

Re: Pre Season Games
I watched that 15 side last year (14s) play a promoted B team, they lost 15-1, however that same team went on to win the C league. There is a rather large gap between leagues and a dominating team in the Cs can find out just how poor some of the C leagues are, and a coach can establish just how much development is needed, good luck in the Bs this year and I hope it is as exciting as your previous in the Cs.OldGold wrote:U/16 Noarlunga Utd 2 V Cumberland B's 0.

Half of the 16's at Noarlunga have been coached very well at their previous club give credit where it's due!

Most juniors get some development from their former coaches, however, I hear the boys are responding well as a team and improving with good development. You should give credit where its due!
Just saying...........
