That what I was getting at too.
It takes at least 2 seasons to build a squad to challenge (let alone win) a title. So to say you’ll have the league title in a few seasons without spending this summer is bonkers.
It’s even more madness if Arsenal miss CL and their grand plan for paying off the Emirates becomes even murkier.
Yeh they’re starting off a higher base than what City and Chelsea were but key players like Arteta, Podolski and Carzola will all be wrong side of thirty in a few seasons.
Wilshere and Walcott aside, I can’t see the long-term quality without having to invest big time.
their thinking is idiotic, they are happy to plod along then splurge once its all sorted, but this plan goes back 2-3 years with every CL missed, i agree with you, the spending should start this summer, irrespective of this seasons outcomes, if they want to compete
at least liverpool look like sticking with rogers, giving him the time and money to shape his squad, much like he did at swansea, technically you are prob already ahead of arsenal in terms of a rebuild
Behold the footballing experts - Kop and Doc Bahahahaha Doc please elaborate on your last paragraph......(Cant wait for this)
You gunners are pretty deluded, you think once the Emirates is paid if the PL trophy will magically appear in your cabinet, all I'm asking is how you expect to win it if you're not spending mega bucks now?
How long did it take City and Chelsea and do expect to spend in the 100s of millions like them?
Of your good players only Walcott and Wilshere aside are at their peak - agewise - now, right? So when you plan on winning the title in 2015/16 it will be done with these players at the end of their careers plus some big money signings. All the while competing with City, Chelsea and a financially dominant Man U for the same big money signings?
This makes no sense.
We might have stupid and high hopes too but at least there's some logic behind it!
You can only beat what's in front of you but Swansea rested seven of eleven. Wouldn't read too much into it.
Borini out for the season as well. The new Aquilani

Almost 40 shots on goal, keeper make some blinding saves, another bog standard Liverpool home game pretty much.
Only diff is scored before HT. If it was 0-0 at the break rkn it was another WBA style on the cards.
Coutinho and Downing on the wings, Suarez no 10 and Sturridge upfront quick direct football in final third.

Zenit proving a different kettle of fish to Swansea?
Edit: Spoke too soon, Pool on a bit of a comeback?

Probably not the way he'd choose to bow out

Suarez is surely on track for player of the season.
Your player of the season? He won that after about 10 games.
IMO should definitely by the EPL player of the season.
