No glass houses. If you want to talk about rebuilding and progress, you just need to look at the fact we relocated to a brand new site with Arguably the best stadium in England that is not far from being paid off. Once this happens we will be up there with the very best, fact.

The whole time this has occured we have still managed to keep in touch with the top teams, unlike Liverpool who have been average for so many years now.

And during this time you’ve won....precisely nothing.
Are you honestly actually happy with this? But it’s OK the stadium (the asset and significant source of revenue attributable to the owner and only the owner) is being paid off.

Arsenal’s excuse here is worse than the Liverpool rebuilding one.
We’re almost at wits end with ours, I mean all the dregs of the Roy era almost out the door.

Will be funny what the excuses are when the stadium is paid off.
Will be even funnier if Top 4 remains unchanged. Have you stopped to consider that if the Arsenal model is to sell a big player almost every window to service the debt, even with CL income, how is the 30m funding gap filled when the Spuds beat you to that 4th spot? No doubt there’ll be excuses for trophyless season number 9 even though Mr Wenger’s age of austerity has seen him spend 100m in the last 2 seasons….

You really dont understand do you. If you dont think Arsenal will be in a better position once the stadium is paid off you are very stupid.

Also no im not happy with the fact we are trophyless and never said i was. I actually asked you a similar question about Liverpools current form / progress about 20 minutes ago and you chose to deflect by mentioning Arsenal, hence this continous conversation.

Its not an excuse Kop its a FACT (& we have the stadium to show it)
We were competing with the big clubs (well back then it was only United) & wining trophies until we starting building the Emirates & in hand took on board the youth policy.
All this is FACT (& I have admitted in many previous posts that I knew we would be standing here today without any trophies but with the understanding once Emirates is paid off we will be back swinging with the so called big boys)

Your continues dribble is excuse after excuse, with very little weight

Not to mention if these financial restricions actually come into play, we will be leaps and bounds above other clubs. Apart from United we have the biggest revenue stream in the Prem league......

What’s there not to understand? Stadium gets paid off, owner(s) have more cash flow, can choose to allocate it to the football club if they wish.
Yes we’ve been battered with the stadium excuse from pillar to post. Get some new material FFS.

And I’m pretty sure I answered this question of yours right here a long time ago:
“Of course 9th is unacceptable but you don't mind as much when you batter teams. A Sturridge would have had the game wrapped up at HT. Can't change the fact he was injured...”
I just find it ironic being lectured by Arsenal fans seeing 1) You’re 8 or 9 years without a trophy, 2) you’re not in the CL places now, 3) you basically arsed it last season into the CL on the back of 1 player’s brilliance, 4) You just make up the numbers in every comp you’re in and 5) a personal fave, you used to go on and on and on and on and on about the Arsenal way of playing football then basically decided last couple of seasons balls to that it’s more about results and now ignore when another team claims to play good football but not get the matching result. It’s too funny, you couldn’t be more ignorant if you tried.

In a nutshell all we hear from gooners are highlights that you’re a brilliant money making machine then use that to as a shield to drop poop on other clubs without realising that you’re as knee deep in the crappola as the rest of us. If you’re not competing for the title you’re in the dregs like us. Wake up and smell it.

I’m all for banter, will begrudgingly take banter from Utd, City and even Chelsea supporters they’ve got every right to gloat, I even like the clever well thought out banter (bubu start taking lessons please)……but c’mon you’re Arsenal in the year 2013. Please.

Im not sure how we are in the "dregs" With Liverpool. Last time i checked, 3rd is far superior to your 8th of last season.

Its obvious i have hit a nerve and its quite commical. So the moment we win a trophy, do i have the right to completely take the p#ss out of you? Because that is one thing i can guarentee, is that we will before Liverpool.

Arsenal have a bright future. Genuine footballing fans know this.

Go educate yourself with some real footballing knowledge, perhaps even go and watch your team play for real and speak to real fans, rather than sitting behind a keyboard and acting like you know everything. Your opinion of Liverpool is a complete contrast of most scousers in England. You would be laughed at with some of the shite that dribbles from your mouth........

See this is why I like taking the piss out of you. How can you guarantee to win silverware before Liverpool? Were’s the logic here?
7 years ago, if I told you one of Swansea or Bradford would win a trophy before Arsenal won something you’d piss your pants.

Anyway, for the nth time cos it just seems like now you’re just going out of your way to miss the point.
If you’re not competing for the title, you’re in the dregs. Simple. No matter which quasi-super-corporate-finance angle you try and spin those are the facts.
Liverpool have been in the dregs for a long time. Arsenal have been in the same dregs even if you do win the 4th place trophy every year. Glory in football is about titles and winning things not making enough revenue to keep your bank manager happy.

Every Liverpool fan knows we’ve got a long way to go, but the arrogance in which you gooners stand on the soap box tell everyone how awesome you are makes me wanna puke then go full commando in a topic like this.

It counts if we win it

But seriuosly, would take A champions league spot over a league cup anyday. Players want to play Champions league football and would be very hard to attract players without it.

If Arsenal intend to win a title within the next few seasons, they’ve gotta start spending big this summer.
Chelsea and City have proven you don’t get instant results with spend it takes at least 2 seasons of big money moves before you can really compete.

we both know that wont happen, finishing 4th, if that does happen, gives them a tough draw into the CL so they will not spend until that money is secure

the sad thing for arsenal is that until the stadium is paid off the board are happy with 4th

That what I was getting at too.
It takes at least 2 seasons to build a squad to challenge (let alone win) a title. So to say you’ll have the league title in a few seasons without spending this summer is bonkers.
It’s even more madness if Arsenal miss CL and their grand plan for paying off the Emirates becomes even murkier.

Yeh they’re starting off a higher base than what City and Chelsea were but key players like Arteta, Podolski and Carzola will all be wrong side of thirty in a few seasons.
Wilshere and Walcott aside, I can’t see the long-term quality without having to invest big time.

their thinking is idiotic, they are happy to plod along then splurge once its all sorted, but this plan goes back 2-3 years with every CL missed, i agree with you, the spending should start this summer, irrespective of this seasons outcomes, if they want to compete

at least liverpool look like sticking with rogers, giving him the time and money to shape his squad, much like he did at swansea, technically you are prob already ahead of arsenal in terms of a rebuild

Rumours Carlo Ancelotti was contacted in January to see of his availability next season

hmmmmm

I wasn't really confident in Rodgers from the start but he hasn't been given the best team to work with or the money to buy the players he needs. The biggest problem is the people who own and run the club, they need to pull their fingers out and realise $$$ need to be spent or Liverpool will not be a competitive team anytime soon.
