Adelaide Olympic WFC will not be in premier league in 2013
The ffsa have advised the AOWFC that at this stage they will not be reinstated back into the women's premier league for 2013
We have a base squad of players but now we are looking for a few more girls to replace the girls only wanting to play premier league. So If there are any players interested in playing in other divisions, are unhappy with there current situation or club and would like to play at the AOWFC. call nick on 0402965860 or email; nmylo@yahoo.com.au, to discuss your options. Or come to training, currently at the Western Youth Centre at 79 Marion Rd, Cowandilla on Wednesday night, with a 6.30 start. Season Fees for 2013 will be very low.
The Philosophy at the club this year will be to be as competitive as possible, develop good skills and techniques, have fun and enjoy the game in a friendly social environment.

Re: Adelaide Olympic WFC will not be in premier league in 20
I guess if a team (any team) dropped out of the Premier League, they probably should earn their way back into it. But in saying that, the league only has 7 teams or so this season? Not a great number for the top level of womens football in SA. No teams promoted from the state league?
Re: Adelaide Olympic WFC will not be in premier league in 20
From memory the 4 state league teams were merged with the 6 Prems teams in 2012 to make a 10 team competition.

Geez, it's all too confusing. Someone needs to sort this mess out so the Womens PL in SA can be a competitive one.
Re: Adelaide Olympic WFC will not be in premier league in 20
So what is the rule for nominating to be placed into the Premier League? How did the first FFSA 15/16 team get in as a new club and now the FFSA 14/16 which is also new?
Re: Adelaide Olympic WFC will not be in premier league in 20
Precisely. The FFSA will place "New" teams into relevant leagues based on the players named/nominated and their experience. If they have players that had played in the PL last year, then why not allow them back into the PL? If State League was existent, than that would be a different story.
Isn't it best for Womens Football in this State to have more competitive teams and therefore a stronger Premier League, instead of having 4 or 5 teams dominating?
FFSA do the right thing, allow them back into the Prems. It will be the best thing for the comp.

Re: Adelaide Olympic WFC will not be in premier league in 20
For the league it would be so much better having Olympic than the state team IMO...FFSA should let Olympic back and work on some rule to avoid what happened two tears ago with a coach from another club going to "recruit" a whole team...that was a shame IMO but now the damage is done. FFSA, if you care about the league, LOOK AFTER IT.
I can't stop thinking that deep down some "influential" ppl in FFSA just see women's football as some extra work to do and would like it to "go away"...

Why? Are Olympic hiding players that no one else knows about? Olympic returning will not improve the league it will simply dilute the standard of the league by spreading players out across an extra team!Easy Tiger wrote:For the league it would be so much better having Olympic than the state team IMO...FFSA should let Olympic back and work on some rule to avoid what happened two tears ago with a coach from another club going to "recruit" a whole team...that was a shame IMO but now the damage is done. The FFsa team was not the weakest team in the league last year and did not take any players from other prem league sides apart from Waterhouse so what's the issue there?
Olympic should not be allowed back into Prems, no one should just get into Prems and I hope FFSA stick to their guns for once?
Re: Adelaide Olympic WFC will not be in premier league in 20
So FFSA can put in a new team in the PL but the rule doesn't apply to other clubs.
Another question:
The rule min. age to play in the open league is 14, so how can FFSA 14/15 team have 13 year olds in the squad? How are these players going to deal with players older, bigger and stronger? Where is the duty of care?

Re: Adelaide Olympic WFC will not be in premier league in 20
I believe that the rule is 14 or over, unless by parental consent. This involves the parent signing a permission form.
Re: Adelaide Olympic WFC will not be in premier league in 20
From the FFSA Women's competiton booklet.
If a club deems that a player is capable of playing in a higher age group, a club may submit a
letter requesting an exemption to the minimum age. A letter from the player’s parent or carer
outlining their consent for the player to play in a higher age group, must also accompany the
club’s letter.

The goalkeeper is the jewel in the crown and getting at him should be almost impossible. It's the biggest sin in football to make him do any work.

Re: Adelaide Olympic WFC will not be in premier league in 20
How would the womens league go dealing with a PPS as introduced to the mens Prem League for this coming season?

Re: Adelaide Olympic WFC will not be in premier league in 20
Thats exactly where the PPS is needed. Will stop mass migration of players every year. The FFSA continue to run the most farcical womens competition in the country . How can they have a mess every year in January. What are they going to come up with this year A premier League of 5 and a State League of 2. Maybe they can promote some 11 year olds to play against 25 year olds to fill the gaps. For Gods sake fix it or give it to someone else to make sense of it all.

Player points system I think.
Different players cost or gain clubs points depending on a set of predefined rules from FFA/FFSA.
It encourages retention/development of a club's own players amongst other things.
A club has a maximum number of points they must stay within.

If the Player Point System had existed in the women's comp, they probably wouldn't have. It is only in the men's competition, and only starting this year I believe.

Yeh it's only starting this season and the FFSA have given the clubs 250 odd points to help get into the swing of it.juniorsupporter wrote:If the Player Point System had existed in the women's comp, they probably wouldn't have. By the sounds of things women's football needs it, a whole team leaving a club to play for another forcing a club to drop out is absurd, for that to happen in a premier comp is rediculous.

I don't know exactly what happened, but I don't think it was as simple as that (a good number of the team up and leaving for another club, or being recruited by another club as was mentioned earlier).

Let's remember here that Olympic didn't have Juniors. So under a PPS they would be struggling to field a full squad of players they have developed under the current rules of the Men's PPS.

but at the time in 2011, before they folded they had an under 9/11 team and an U15 team.

Which is great, except unfortunately you can't have a squad of mainly 13 and 17 year olds. I guess if clubs were given say 3-5 years to plan and implement this, it would be great for the women's game. Some clubs are already in a healthy place in that respect, but others would get the opportunity to try and implement a solid junior academy.the barbarian wrote:but at the time in 2011, before they folded they had an under 9/11 team and an U15 team.
it's amazing how much some Men's sides have gotten their act together with their U18 sides this year with the PPS coming into play.

You'll find the big 5 or so have had their 19's in order for a while now, the focus is now on the transfer of those tallents in youth football to mens football.Lucas Leiva wrote:Which is great, except unfortunately you can't have a squad of mainly 13 and 17 year olds. The club Im at has put emphisis all the way back to 5 and 6 year olds.
All the FFSA has to do is give clubs a seasons grace before brining it in, that way clubs know next off season we have to keep transfers to a minimum, so this season becomes all about setting up next seasons squad.
