Some good points.. however:strawney wrote:Hey guys,
In all fairness to the men's team.
No coach or player goes over to Nationals to loose,
Sometimes you have to do your best with the players available.
As a coach etc, for many years with Futsal Sa, can tell ya that ,
You can hand pick the best possible players from the state.
But many issue's come into it. ( as some people know first hand )
Outdoor soccer commitments, work & money are the main concerns.
I do know first hand, selected a great squad that would have been very competitive,
As from the previous year made the semis at under16 level.
Had 30 players ( good players ) out for trials,
Then over the 3 weeks , selected the squad with assistance of the coach above & below.
Due to circumstances beyond my control, lost 6 of the squad selected,
So hey guys, don't rubbish people unless you actually know the full details.
I too could pick the best 10 players I have seen play over the last 2 years, are they available at the time ?
For Futsal to move forward in SA, all parties need to band together, not bag eachother, as it does more harm than good.
Well done to all that competed at the Nationals.
You will find a good coach attracts good players.. i haven't heard of many players... actually.. 'one' player.. that has played under Lascala and respected or put their faith in him as a coach. Ps in those highlights that someone posted did i see a Papandrea spat/self substitution??
Re: 2012/13 Nationals
Tony has knowledge at National level,
He has been around long enough and seen plenty of games.
He didn't want to do it a couple of years ago, but circumstances changed, and was the most experienced.
Just a question for everyone out there, who else would you put in his posistion ?
As men's open coach.
( And I mean qualified Futsal Coach. )
I do agree, things need to change, re selection of coaches.
Always said coaches need to be selected just after coming back from Nationals.
That way it puts you in the box seat to build from a squad who has been competitive, and get to tweak it.
From experience : the reason why we do struggle in some respect, is that our bench players aren't as good as the starting five.
If you look at other states, they seem to have very capable bench players , who seem to be just as strong as the first group.
Picking squads early, gives you more time , to teach the technical side of the game.

Re: 2012/13 Nationals
Congratulations to the Mens Youth and the U14 Girls for making the final.
The Mens Youth team faced Victoria tonight with the winner going through to the final to meet NSW. There were no semi-finals in this age group - only the top two go through to the final. SA beat Victoria 5-0 to finish second on the table and go into the final.
Great effort. The boys should be very proud of themselves.
The U14 Girls also finished second on the table and then beat ACT 6-1 in the semi final to go through to the final.
Another great effort and the girls should be very proud of themselves.

Re: 2012/13 Nationals
You get asked to go out. You have to play at Ingle farm, campbelltown, the parks, magill or the gardens (think this is all of them) and then you are invited out. Usually most of the team comes from Campbelltown Centre but not sure this years team. How hard... Gerrard wrote:Did Futsal SA have open trials for the mens team??? Contact Futsal SA if you would like to try out if you dont play at those venues

I think you'll find a few coaches will be available after 19th January when they complete the FFA Futsal Licence.strawney wrote:Tony has knowledge at National level,

Re: 2012/13 Nationals
Well done to the SA Mens Youth team.
I was told SA were outstanding in the final and deserved to win it. They just could not score past the NSW goalkeeper.
At the end of full time in the final it was 0-0. So the game went into extra time. With NSW seemingly on the ropes, SA had a player sent off in extra time and it was only then that NSW was able to score both goals and win the game.

Looking at the team selected for senior mens, who picked them and how were they picked??? There no names, related to the coach or have passed there use by date. Futsal SA really need a big overhaul. These people have chips on their shoulders and really need to move on.

Last time I checked it's not an AUFC supporters only forum
So no need to tell them to 'F OFF'

Re: 2012/13 Nationals
the major issue out of all of this is the FFSA! how can they sit around while the people who run Futsal in south Australia make a mockery of the sport? what Futsal SA do is a direct reflection on the FFSA so I suggest someone at FFSA headquarters pull their finger out and start taking an interest into what is actually happening before the sport collapses like a flan in a cupboard.
Dan Birdwell - You have to play this game like somebody just hit your mother with a two-by-four.

Re: 2012/13 Nationals
No disrespect,
How many games did Fusco play for men's team ?
He as a coach himself, would have more interested in his own state team he selected,
Rather than playing for men's open.
( puts pressure on him )
Don't think that part helps at all, Coaches of other teams , shouldn't be named , &
Expected to play if something goes wrong.
Hey, that's just my view.
And what would I know

Re: 2012/13 Nationals
I have sat and read so many negative comments from players who were NOT THERE! If you are so good why didn't you put your hand up for trials? I went and watched both the Men's and Youth teams AND they did try. They did not go over knowing they were going to lose but the standard interstate is just so much higher. I heard that Fusion (who have spent a great deal of time on this site bagging Futsal SA) have made attempts but still have not won interstate! We need to keep trying, start an all year round set of comps and select a state team by July to give them time to consolidate as in the other states.

Re: 2012/13 Nationals
Passion4soccer, Not one Adelaide Fusion Futsal Club player, coach or committee member has ever 'bagged' Futsal SA on this site. All members of the club have been told not post negative comments towards Futsal SA or the FFSA. We are trying to form a partnership with the mentioned associations. Posting negative comments about these associations or people invovled with them will not help our cause now will it?passion4soccer wrote:I have sat and read so many negative comments from players who were NOT THERE! I don't know who you have heard it from but I think it would be best if you speak to us rather than listen to rumours and publicly post them and in the process give our club a bad name. All these sort of actions do is create false pre-tenses and misconceptions about our club and what we are trying to do, which in the long run is to the detriment of the game.
If you read all of the posts from Adelaide Fusion they have been posting results and the progress of our players in the nationals. Our Facebook page also has the results and reports from the open men's tournament. We have done nothing but promote the progress of our state teams and how they are going.
You also say we have been interstate and not won. This is true but I can tell you that the standard was higher than nationals as verified by other teams that have played in the nationals. We have also been invited back to play in that competition. This was also our first ever trip interstate as a club so we can only improve from here. The real test is how we go next time to see what we have learnt.
If anyone wishes to discuss any of these issues further please send a private message as we will not respond to anything over the public forum. Or alternatively you can send an email to adelaidefusion@gmail.com.

Re: 2012/13 Nationals
Passion4soccer just coz your son was picked in the team and was part of a team that let in 32 goals in 6 games, there is no need to take it out on other teams or people. Deal with it the team selected was a joke and something needs to be done about it for future nationals.
