As an ex-Goon, RVP is not top of my favourites, nor are Man United, but you've got to admit it, whether or not it was intentional, it was a cuntish thing to do by Williams after the whistle had gone. RVP would have been fully justified in landing him one.Litmanen wrote:Le King wrote:El Pibe D'Oro wrote:

Is that why you've highlighted it? because it seems like you gave up a while ago.
I'm pretty sure it was accidental, Williams is just a wank defender who can't kick straight and the over-reaction from Baconface was merely because they dropped points. Had it happened in open play, nobody would have said anything, it's just because it was after the whistle. I assume Williams got booked for kicking the ball away, not because it happened to hit Van Pansy?Litmanen wrote:^^
I agree, i would have reacted that way too, does that make it right though?
Also if it wasn't intentional, then it wasn't a cuntish thing to do, in that case, it was an accident. As ive said elsewhere, RVP got sent off for kicking a ball in frustration against Barca ( claiming he couldn't hear the ref, even though instead of running at the keeper he wiffed a shot on his wrong foot from an angle), so the kick in frustration shouldn't be the criticism, players do it all the time.

Which of those are in your first team squad?Le King wrote:The Kop wrote:nice fairytale bro, De Gea (18.9m), Young (17m), Jones (17m), RVP (24m), Kagawa (12m) all say hi in the past 2 seasons alone.filbertralph wrote:Manutd does not buy stars. manutd produce stars. and selling to big clubs who demand big players like beckham, nistelrooy, ronaldo. in the last 5 years the club has spent about just 36 million to buy new players. whereas mancity have spent around 10 times more.manutd plays classy football.encouraging young players.players whose names u havent heard before and promising rising stars. manutd play deir own game. de play tactics.de chnge tactis. innovate on the pitch itself.the try to rerieve the ball anyhow. just sumtyms experience is wer de lack against experienced clubs and experienced clubs.bt this new team offers lots of promises.very talented sqaud. 2 more years and big clubs will hunt players from manutd again!

Based at the club's Carrington training ground, United's youth academy produces more players for England's top five leagues than any other. In fact, United was ranked fifth in a recent study of Europe's most productive youth setups -- only Barcelona, Lyon, Real Madrid and Stade Rennais were ranked higher -- developing 24 players for Europe's "Big 5" divisions.
Nahhhhh, they don't produce players.....
Damn lies and statistics.Le King wrote:You can work that out yourself if you are really interested. The argument was that United don't produce players. This article states they certainly do. More than any other team in England
Ey? Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Darren Fletcher, Jonny Evans, Tom Cleverley, Danny Welbeck, the Da Silva twins all currently playing in the first team squad.NickyTanner wrote:Out of the current Utd team, hardly any home grown players.
Last league game, Giggs was the only one who has been at utd all his career. Evans you can possibly have as you git him pretty young as well.
So one could say that you aren't producing too much?
The Da Silvas were in Brazil until they were 18. How did you 'develop' them? A little polish maybe, but that's all.Jimbob wrote:Ey? The simple fact is that United have the best youth set up in England and produce the most players for their first team.
You only deal in facts right?
Because our team is much better than yours, has been for about 20 years. We challenge for major trophies every season.NickyTanner wrote:Why is it harder to get to Utd's, do you play five aside and not eleven?
NOC, UTD fans don't know their players, you should know that by now. They need us to educate them.
NickyTanner wrote:But your squad size would be the same as ours. So it will be just as tough to get into our team as yours. If we are no good, it follows our reserves and youth won't be as good either, so you just drop a level, doesn't make competition for places any easier.
I won't say using your logic, as you have none.
I suggests you carry on reading up where you signed your players from....
And this is wrong as well. Stands to reason that the lower level clubs (and some in the EPL like Southampton, West Ham) would produce more homegrown players, for the simple reason that they cannot afford to do anything else.Jimbob wrote:The simple fact is that United have the best youth set up in England and produce the most players for their first team.
No, it is harder to break into the United first team as the standard is a lot higher than it is at Liverpool. Competition for places will be hard at Liverpool as well yes but the standard is nowhere the same as what it is at United.NickyTanner wrote:But your squad size would be the same as ours. And this is why it is so impressive that United keep producing the players that they do that reach the first team. The standard they have to reach is so much higher than that of clubs like Southampton, Villa and Liverpool etc.Nice One Cyril wrote:And this is wrong as well. Although true, it's just more obvious logic. They take the best young kids into their academy at age 10 or so, and probably can afford to take more of them. It's a numbers game.Jimbob wrote:And this is why it is so impressive that United keep producing the players that they do that reach the first team. So basically just Gerrard and Owen yeah in the past 20 years, if we're talking world class players?NickyTanner wrote:its bollox Le King, not jealousy, teams like Crewe (in the 90s), and Southampton are producing the best players.
I am not convinced by him yet, but the latest great youngster is Sterling, from QPR.
Who was the last great young thing UTD produced?
ALL your best players in the past 10 years have been bought!!
Liverpool have produced Owen, Carragher and Gerrard.
Since UTD's golden era of youngsters they haven't produced a top quality world class player, Carragher was never World class I acknowledge that.
I don't want to intrude too much in your North of Watford slanging match, but a question. Do United, or Liverpool for that matter, sponsor, run or otherwise assist any of the local junior (6-12) sides?Jimbob wrote:So basically just Gerrard and Owen yeah in the past 20 years, if we're talking world class players?NickyTanner wrote:its bollox Le King, not jealousy, teams like Crewe (in the 90s), and Southampton are producing the best players.

All clubs have their own academy.NickyTanner wrote:Liverpool have their own academy.
And Jimbob I am not going to get into a world class debate, but Fowler, McMannaman weren't too shabby were they?
