Brisbane v lady reds

Post by scipio africanus »

3 nil down at half time.

FFA Match commentary states 'complete domination' by roar.

No mention of even a half chance being created by Adelaide.

I hope lady reds can lift to avoid a blow out in second half.

6-2 ... Two late consolation goals, with Moore and quigley scoring.

Moore definitely adding a cutting edge to attack, but gaping holes remain as evidenced by conceding six.

Second half sounded much better, 2 goals and 2 against the crossbar with their 6th going in in the last minute?
Couple of soft goals by the sound of it though in the first half?
Was anyone at the game to comment?

I can only go by what I read on the live FFA match commentary ... Up until 5 nil it was complete domination by Brisbane, who lets be realistic here, after making all their subs to rotate the bench and winning 5 nil, took the foot off the accelerator most likely. Plus all their missed chances on top of the 6 goals scored.

We shouldn't read too much into what we did at 5 nil down, as it disguises the major flaws, though u can draw some consolation that the girls didn't give up.

How we played when the pressure was on and Brisbane playing at their real tempo is the true indication.

Nice for the Ladys to score a couple of goals but hard to get excited about as they only came after 5 down.
Yes Scipi easy to imagine Roar would have relaxed after 5.
Sounds like Quigley should be starting going on recent performances
IMO, no doubt ER, TJ or ES would do a better job of getting the team sorted structurally and stop the leaking goals while still scoring up the other end.

What should we expect?? Someone to take responsibility for mediocrity. Others have sought to seek deflection by accusing the clubs, lack of money and players of our current dire position.

Who do you think is responsible for how the team is recruited, managed, trained and how they play???

Last year the team was inherited. This year, a clear 12 months preparation was at hand.

No more excuses ...we can much better even with not having the biggest budget.

FFSA spends too much money on the coach, better spent on other things , like flying to a game the day before, but thats just my opinion

wow. for the first time this season, as I said before and ill say again and again give a local coach a chance , how many on the forum would volunteer there time so to be a observer for the games on sunday to feed back to the coach on who to look at for the team , I would for sure, we all want the Reds to go forward and improve , but it the FFSA dont give a flying you know what , things will never change,, but as I said thats just my thoughts

I am not a supporter of the fFSA but remember they are paying for this crap team to be on the Park. And they are paying even though the Mens Clubs slammed them for it. The problem is the womens game is built on paper thin foundations. Sham Premier League , poorly administered clubs with coaches and players on committees. Clubs folding, and players going from club to club depending on their love lives. Clubs coached by coaches who would never be given a job coaching in the Mens comp. FACT
