Matildas coach

Post by QuantoQuesta »

So DE didn't get the Matildas job... Looks like he is stuck here a while longer.

Hesterine de Reus, a Dutch woman has been announced as Tom Sermannis replacement. Another Dutch coach for FFA......

If DE is openly applying for other jobs, and I suspect he has applied for more than just the national team job, then his heart isn't in football in SA and the long term. If that's the case, he should step aside at end of the season and do the right thing and allow the ffsa to search for a suitable candidate who is not only a good coach, but a leader capable of uniting all in the rebuilding of women's football.

Make no mistake, there are clubs who have fallen over or in dire straits as we speak, on top of the clubs we lost last year. The loss of toros is very sad and i fear not the last. of the few clubs left, some of those who appear strong, are only one or two tired volunteers (who run the show) away from falling into trouble if they quit. With no grassroots there is no elite football, but my other fear is what little focus on strategy is being applied to the elite level and no action on dying grass roots.

The game is on the edge of an abyss. Leadership, vision, communication at the top is more essential now than ever. More so than coaching qualifications on a piece of paper.

Sad if true. I know sturt are ok with numbers which means cumby must be struggling, which begs the question on how a club that 5 years ago was a production line for the best young talent in the state, is now in such trouble.

How many clubs must fold or come close to folding before someone takes responsibility and address's the slide into oblivion?

But we beat powerhouse Newcastle, so things must be on the improve. Right John?? ;)

Yep snow white those dwarfs have to move on ,
Thats the problem the carters take no responsibility on the dismal situation the womans game is in, I will always keep saying that the city and metro coach should be coaching the lady reds team, they would see all the players playing week in work out

How do you work that out? Club coach would be coaching there team each week, whereas DE or whoever the W League coach is watches 2 teams at least every week.

You are probably right John, and if you have a nuetral coach, he / she can also check out other divisions as well, would be one or two players in the lower divisions who could be worthy of a go.

If Premier league teams are thinking of amalgamating, why not look for a club/team in a lower division instead of 2 prem tems joining and ending up with less teams ? There will be some short term pain, but the gain will be long term. Just my opinions :)

I'm sure PNG need a womens coach, he coached in Australia & New Zealand, just needs PNG for the set.
How many games have they won in last 2 seasons ?
