High performance coaches, directors, managers and support staff will this month converge at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra to discuss approaches to support high performance sports in Australia.

World Class to World Best: Australia’s High Performance Sports Conference 2012 held from 21-23 November at the ASC will highlight the themes of athlete pathways, coaching, program psychology and leadership. It will help shape the future direction of high performance sports and ensure our system remains innovative and relevant in a changing international environment.

Speakers already confirmed include Baroness Susan Greenfield, world renowned neuroscientist, writer and broadcaster; Peter Conde, National High Performance Director at Australian Sailing; Chelsea Warr, Head of Athlete Pathway Development at UK Sport; World Cup winning coach Jake White, head coach of the Brumbies Rugby team as well as national and international speakers from the sport, business and government sectors.

Comedian Wil Anderson, host of the ABC TV series Gruen Planet, will provide entertainment at a networking event on day one of the conference.
