SMWSC Senior coaching appointment

Sturt Marion women’s soccer Club is pleased to announce the re appointment of current Premier League coach, FFSA U14 girls state team coach and Adelaide United Academy head coach Tom Ballantyne as head coach for 2013.
Tom’s re-appointment creates the stability and continuity required to be a competitive force in the Premier League into the future.
Tom will be responsible for direction and development across all teams.
We invite other interested coaches to apply for Reserves and junior coaching positions.
Please respond to sturtmarionwsc@adam.com.au by Friday 21st September.
We are currently aiming to fill teams in Premier league and reserves, Under 17s, Under 15s, Under 13s and social with an option for further teams ,numbers pending.
Any player wishing to be a part of our 2013 campaign and experience the fantastic facilities at the Marion Sports and Community Club is also welcome to register their interest at sturtmarionwsc@adam.com.au.
Senior trials will be held in late November, early December dates TBC.
Junior pre season will start in the third week of January, Monday 14th at 6.30PM.

Great write up on Sharon Black in this weeks Messenger, with her picture on the front page - good advertisement for the game, no finer example of what loyalty and dedication is all about.

Perhaps some committee members could read it and realise what Blacky has achieved in her career.
She would be an asset to any club.

Trials for the Senior group consisting of Premier League and Reserves teams will be held at the Marion Sports and Community Club; 262 Sturt Rd Marion.
All players interested in playing at the highest level with the the best coaches and facilities are invited to attend on
1st trial - Wednesday 3rd October 6.30PM to 8.00PM
2nd trial - Sunday 7th October 11am to 12.30pm. There will be a sausage sizzle afterwards
3rd trial - Wednesday 10th October 6.30PM to 8.00PM
All senior coaches will be present.
Proper training kit including boots, shin pads and water bottle will be needed.

Players selected to play at SMWSC in 2013 will be required to pay a $100 deposit to secure their position in the team.

Sturt Marion Women’s Soccer Club is pleased to announce that 2012 Adelaide City Reserve coach Tony Mansuetto will be assisting senior coach Tom Ballantyne and be in charge of the Reserve team for 2013.
All players interested in playing in the senior competition are requested to attend trials to be held at the club on

1st trial - Wednesday 3rd October 6.30PM to 8.00PM
2nd trial - Sunday 7th October 11am to 12.30pm There will be a sausage sizzle afterwards

With such a big turn out last night it will be important to come to the next trial on this Sunday 7th at 11am to avoid disappointment if you wish to be considered for a part of the SMWSC senior squad for 2013.
Remember it is daylight saving and clocks will go forward 1 hour.

We would like to thank all the players for registering their interest in playing in the 2013 SMWSC Senior Squad.
All sessions were well attended and the standard high.
A positive pre season will see us well prepared for next year.

I went down and watched a couple of the Sturt Marion trials. I was really suprised on how many highly skilled girls they had out there. Sturt Marion is going to be a team to watch out for in 2013.

And the word must be out there, because I saw a number of coaches from other women's clubs hiding in the carpark or in the shadows looking at the trials. I'm assuming that they were there to see who turned up from their clubs and also to learn on how professional trials should look like.
