he wasn't talking to you, he was talking to people who attend games.
How much of your "hard earned" did you spend watching this game?

I'm not defending a scotsman, I'm telling you like it is.
He's British, you're not (or are you?)

soccernet and skysports both said that AFTER the game, the liverpool fans went over to the away section doing plane gestures in regards to munich, so then the United fans gave them a few chants backGod is an Englishman wrote:Le King wrote:Well according to soccernet and other sites ive read that it all went well, even during the game i couldnt hear any chants from United towards liverpool apart from "SIGN ON, SIGN ON, WITH A PEN IN YOUR HAND, CAUSE YOU'LL NEVER GET A JOB"
man u were chanting - always the victims, it's never your fault
liverpool fans were doing airplane gestures
Who started it is where the debate begins.

well well well, funny how the truth has a tendency to pop out evetually...God is an Englishman wrote:I thought that was proved to be Barossa PearlFRANKEL wrote:What about your scumbags supporters who threw rocks bottles and other objects at the ambulance carrying Alan smith after he snapped his leg at anfield... They also tried to tip the ambulane over by rocking it from side to side whilst chanting Munich scum... So Unfortunatly NT every team in the country has supporters who are complete c**ts but that's just life it happens there's nothing anyone can do about it...
Alan Smith insists no-one rocked his ambulance at Anfield as it tried to take him to hospital in 2006.
'Everyone at Liverpool did as much for me as any club possibly could,' said Smith. 'I was disappointed the story blew up about rocking an ambulance. That was never the case. Liverpool and Man United did everything to get me to the hospital and everything in their power to make sure I was OK.
'I thank them for that. Sometimes it's nice to say that because people have read that they were
rocking my ambulance and throwing stuff at it, which is so untrue.'

The way Everton (again last night), Fergie and others have acted recently gives me faith with the football fraternity.Stiglitz wrote:Haven't you heard? 'Never your fault' is actually about the Suarez affair.
A few idiots (from all teams) and uneducated keyboard warriors shouldn't distract from the amount of progress that has been made.

Nicky - we both know that you will get all the usual chants when you play chelsea or should you get Millwall in the cup. Part and parcel of supporting your club is winding up the opposition.
One thing I have noticed with liverpool fans though - they are very quick to wind up the opposition but don't like it when it comes back at them. The cup game a few years back v Millwall is a great example. It's what makes me think that there probably were some liverpool fans doing the airplane and then reacted to the response.
For the record: I would be more interested in chanting "murderers" at the yorkshire old bill rather than liverpool fans.

Re: Man Utd Fans
We all wind each other up, and we do laugh and appreciate their teams songs...depends what is said though.
Singing about Munich is wrong full stop.
The issue with Hillsborough is a lot of people at games today, knew people affected by it. It's the same with Spurs and 'Yids' songs, some of it is banter but some of the disgusting songs about Hitler aimed at Spurs was below the belt because many Spurs fans families were effected.
Calling someone a yid is OK, making gas sounds is not.
There is a line, and all clubs have fans who cross it too often.
I hope it doesn't happen, but if a disaster happened at the New Den and people died, you would feel different, as you would have probably know someone at the game. It really is only when you are effected you know how you feel.
Fergie and UTD did the right thing, admitting their fans were wrong in their home game, supporters groups who make out nothing happened don't help. A LFC supporters group had a few mindless idiots singing Munich Songs and it didn't go down well amongst the masses.

Let me make it clear, even on that day in the cup I didn't join in any hillsborough chants, there for the grace of god go I (and all that)NickyTanner wrote:I hope it doesn't happen, but if a disaster happened at the New Den and people died, you would feel different, as you would have probably know someone at the game. I was making the point that it will happen, sections of chelsea and Millwall fans will revel in winding you up. Doesn't make it right but I think we both know enough about English football to know it will happen.

A players father dies in a motorcycle crash. 2 days later he plays, and some fans make motorcycle noises whenever he gets the ball. How does that rate?

That's brilliant, what club thought of that one? They should be commended for that one!!

Serious question, because I don't know the answer from first hand experience; When Hillsborough happened, afterwards was it a case of the majority of Liverpool fans stopped singing Munich songs for obvious reasons or has it always been a small minority of fans who sing those songs anyway? I know that one of the first thoughts that came into a lot of United fan's minds when Hillsborough happened was "I wonder if this will put a stop to them singing Munich songs?"
The Munich chants carried on anyway, but was curious to know if they became less popular with Liverpool supporters?

So you don't really have much right to get on your high horse about United fans chanting whatever about Liverpool then? Fair play for admitting it though.

Re: Man Utd Fans
We always observed a silence though.
Even this year in the handshake game we did.
In 25 years lots has changed, so admitting being wrong in the past doesn't mean what people do now is OK. Football was full of hooligans and hatred. Almost anything went back then.

BIG difference between munich songs and hillsborough songs in my opinion.
Hillsborough was something that could have happened to any club and any set of supporters. Similar to the Bradford Fire it affected the common football supporter. Munich wasn't that!!
As I have said many times, Hillsborough nearly happened at Kenilworth Road in 1985 and look at the reporting of that one. The difference that day was that no one died but read any reports into it from outsiders and Millwall rioted.
Re: Man Utd Fans
You having a laugh? Because Hillsborough was something that could have happened to any club you shouldn't chant about it yet because Munich didn't affect the common football supporter anything goes? You think that something that happens to a footballer is the same as what happens to the man on the terraces going about his day to day life.
What were the chances of you being on that plane?
What were the chances of you being on a terrace at a football match?
Modern football fans just haven't got a clue, get your head out of your arse and take your man u glasses off.

Hearsay only, I'm pretty sure Sky TV would have recorded that too IF it happened
The young boys said unto him....."go up baldhead, go up"......so he did, rose like a salmon and nodded the ball into the net......1 nil!

How many "supporters" were on the plane?
How many fellow fans on that plane, left for a days football and never came back?
All death is sad but I actually pity you if you can't see the difference because you will never truly understand what supporting a football team means.
