Dear Inter,

Our most humble of apologies for letting you down. I can see how emotionally scarring it must of been us TTG not playing the last game of the year in a dead rubber while our A's are fighting for promotion. I guess you would play while your child is being born as well.

Good for you.

When it comes to the game at Hindmarsh - Go Vale in my opinion, there is one team that wouldn't have sooked having another sunday off and another sat night to party.

In light of recent 'debate', does the league have to look at forming 2 divisions like the Masters League so that one sided matches are limited???

theonlygoldSTARclub! wrote:Sorry to dissapoint you peanut but itwas not 7pm Saturday. We were never going to have enough players available to play Sunday no matter the KO time. You were told we would not be playing at your first request for the early KO during the week, then i was contacted by our club contact on Friday asking if we could do a later KO which as i mentioned earlier was also not possible. Whoever posted on this site that it was agreed was incorrect and i had alot of sms from our players to make sure I had told ypou guys we were not playing. I then checked with our club contact early Saturday that he had let you guys know which he had. I can understand being pissed off at the lack of a game but pull your bitching heads in and get your facts straight you :clown: :clown: :clown: s
Peanut! ouch... ok some of the actual facts may have got lost in translation between all, however does that really matter! the fact is TTGully had a game to play against Inter, whether it be at 9.30 or 1pm Salisbury Inter did all it could to make the game happen, even though a forfeit meant we became champions! as we did not want to win it that way, and we also appreciate that as a home game our club could benefit from some extra income, something clubs like ours prosper on! we also heard the reason you forfeited was so you could go watch your A's win Div 3? (not sure if its true but what ive heard on the grapevine) WOW Div3 bahahahaha! its that very reason why you guys have struggled to play at the highest level for over 20 years, to commit to a league and then forfeit like that shows you have no respect for the league, club or yourselves, and the fact TTG have been starved of Div1 football is probably the reason numerous people come on here and make statements about teams taking the 35's "to serious"i havent heard any of the Northern clubs like the Downs,Grove,PH East, PH West & Farm complain about the likes of the Vale or Inter, infact those club relish the fact they get to play against a competative outfit! once again i beleive the difference there is these clubs all have a strong history of playing at the highest level unlike the rest of the teams up the Hill a bit! those clubs come to play hard, sure we have words during the game but after 80mins (or 95 if u play the gully away  ) we all have a drink and a laugh after, Hell we even supply all our opposition with ice cold beer and drinks after the game, at the teams expense not the clubs, & that week we actually chucked in extra cash each as we knew you guys had a large squad, we counted 17 or 18 when we played you at the gully, and that wasnt counting your ref :clown: :clown:! anyway its all done and dusted now and Salisbury Inter S.C has picked up another championship (in its first year) to add to its cabinet, the largest Trophy Cabinet in the SAASL, bring on the Vale at Hindmarsh, we cant wait to play against some of the true amatuer league legends of 5/10 years ago, win or lose the beers and antics after should be fun [/quote]
This reply stinks of ignorance and arrogance, but what would you expect from you guys(theres not another world outside of Inter), I as a player informed our club contact early that we couldn't field a side on the Sunday for numerous reasons which seemed to be lost in translation. Reasons - most of our players coach or have kids involved in sport early Sunday mornings (normally 15 kids running around at home and away games supporting other clubs BBQ and canteen) so we couldn't play an early game. Another reason - Yes our A's were involved in a very important game for our CLUB on Sunday and with what's happened re coaching over the last month at TTG and myself stepping in as interim coach I asked if we could get as many Gully supporters to the otherside of town to show the boys that they had the support of everyone else at the club even if the coach that left with 3 games to go didn't support them. Yes it was in your words only div 3 but now we can say we are only in div 2 and maybe/hopefully in a year or two say we are in div 1, remember we were playing you guys in ONLY div 2 three years ago. So yes I apologise for not giving you a game on Sunday, i wanted to as i enjoyed playing against a quality outfit in the first round, but for our CLUB i honestly thought it was a time when the 18-25 year olds in the squad needed the support of every single person possible.
I couldn't give 2 shites if I haven't played div 1 football, I have played with guys who have and guys who haven't and believe me it doesn't make you a better person, I think we at Gully 35's play a decent game of football and in the spirit of the game and when we won the league last year you didn't here us saying how good we were and giving other clubs to much crap, so in closing Congratulations Inter on winnig the league(undefeated), sorry for messing you around on Sunday, congratulations to Vale who will give you an absolutely cracking game at Hindmarsh and congratulations to all the other over 35 teams we have played this year in "hopefully" making it through another season un-scathed. Look forward to doing it all again next year !!

Missing out on a bus trip; just to see this game !!!!!!!!
Has the making of a classic.
I'ts games like these that are very special for the O'35 competition.
Htfc should get a pat on the back for helping create this league.
Good luck to both sides!!!

What a load of bollocks. If you commit a team for a season you should play every game for said season.

Normally speaking I agree, but this is Over 35's. You get a lot more injuries etc.. Sometimes shit happens, especially at the end of the season.

We played a game with 10 this season (I think the 11th arrived at half time) and we're a club that has extra Over 35's playing in the saturday side that can be emergency call ups.

Old Redback we had the supercoach Bobby. I think he needs a new board for next year, I got sick of playing centre half back and you looked confused when he told you to play fullback.

I naturally look confused villaman although Bob's explanation of the rotations at Ingle Farm still makes my head ache.

Hey Lance ( Damian ) be careful with what you say re the Coach that left.Escpecially when you do not know all the facts and going on behind the scene. To say he did not support the team is F----en Bull s--t. I believe he asked a committee member to sort out a problem and he was ignored, no support from the club.

Lance maybe speak to the coach that left before you make statements like below.

"coach that left with 3 games to go didn't support them ".

I can comment because i am the coach that left so be very careful with what you say that is not true.I thought you were a better person than that Damian.

 One committee member pissed you off and you do a runner with 3 weeks to go?

Well done to Lance 23 for picking up the mess you left and turning it into something positive for the club, i.e. promotion.

Yes he did, a cracking penalty. The game was then delayed 15 minutes, to allow ORB to catch the 228 to get him back to his goals.

We are not a team that foriets games as a rule. We gave you(Inter) plenty of notice , it was unfortunate but who are you to tell anyone what they should do. Answer, no one. What in fact are we meant to do as a club and team if we can not get the numbers to play a game ? We are not the first and we wont be the last to not get a team for a game. I would put our record as a club against anyone of you guys on the forum and we would come out in front of a lot of you. Obviously its open season on the Gully but guess what. We dont give a shit, we are back in Div 2 and we continue to bring an awesome number of kids into the game. GO U GULLY!!!!
Go You Gully!!!

Who cares ? It's OVER 35's
Gold star gives Gully grief about supporting it's team to win Div 3 but he is on here bragging about winning div 10....
This is why the numbers are dwindling, go Inter lets have back to back div 10 titles for the trophy room
..... Lmao

Regardless, players pay to play, not to have a lottery on whether the opposition decide to or not.

YAWN!

So, if you only have 6 players over 35 at the club available, what do you do?

It isn't like the C's where players can double up.

12 are unavailable due to being old and more injury prone, 1 has his grandsons 18th birthday, 2 got kicked out the club the week before and and the other is on holiday.

Why would anyone invite their grandparents to their eighteenth birthday?

What sort of a person wouldn't invite their grandparents? Obviously, family isn't as important to some as others.

I'd say the majority of people in this country didn't.
