Raiders U17

Post by SinBad »

So the Man that called himself the U17's Coach decides that the boys have let him down, got news for you little man, the only one who has let anyone down is you. You had a beautiful squad handed to you in the beginning of the year and you have ruined their confidence and self esteem, you don't know the first thing about being a coach, or even how to talk to them, they did not and will not respect you.

I feel sorry for the next set of players that has the displeasure of having to call you a coach, an individual like you discredits all good coaches.

A warning to all parents that will have their boys playing soccer in the next few years, if this "Coaches" name comes up as the one your son will be coached by, I urge you to strongly re-consider.

And to add to this this man only communicates to parents by using profanity, understandable due to his limited vocabulary.

Is this the same coach from Forum "Junior Coach Behaviour". If it is then this doesn't surprise me.
Thanks for the warning, I sure our club and others will keep this in mind when reviewing coaching appointments, if this individual is to move from Raiders.

Its the one and only!! And please consider another club, because you will find that your son will go down hill very quicky, both mentally and physically!! The funny thing is he hasn't even been taking the boys for training, he only attended for match days!!!

His behaviour in every aspect has been disgraceful!! Needs to attend people skills 101.....

I heard he did the same to cambeltown a few years ago, wish there was a warning prior to letting my son play for him, this man has caused at least 5 boys to either quit the team or the club, one wonders why he was allowed so much power, maybe its because he sponsors the clubs to be a Coach, rather than the skills and positive attributes one should bring to a team.

Yes this is him. Sad to think his behaviour has lost the club and team players from a wonderful and successful team this year. With no support from a team manager who has helped protect him.

raiders are a great club, But their coaches at times have been questionable.
watched them last Friday, there were outstanding players being played totally out of position with seemingly little instructions but lots of abuse.
Hadn't seen him before, but was a little stunned...and there are some great young players in this team !
As i said, Raiders are a great club with a fantastic community aspect IMO.
i am sure they will get it sorted out, hopefully keep the kids & move on in 2012.
NB: i have no association with the club, just a dad whose kids enjoyed their time at the club & as a family really enjoyed the culture of the community.

Agreed Faith No More.......... Raiders is a great club, very family orientated, and then you get a someone like him that ruins everything/even to the point of embarrassing the club, and its good name, I have been at this club for a while and this is the worst kind of coaching I have seen, someone made a big maistake taking David on, but at a high cost, I know that there are many parents that feel that the club has let them down, most of which have already moved on either to other teams within the club or a different club altogether.

I would like to think with all the complaints and issues with this coach, that Raiders have parted company with him.
If he is still there coaching, then it is poor form by the Raiders committee.
Failing to act, is almost condoning his actions.

He has been replaced, its not official yet as far as I know. The 18's coach next year is Nenad Sosa, who is a gentleman. He has coached the U/15's team for the last 5/6 years.

If people would look in the "Player - Coach - Club Finder" section of the forum before making judgements, that would be appreciated

Besides Raiders, I havent seen any other club announce their Junior coaches for 2013 yet, or even their FEES ....... and I dont see this particular coaches name anywhere in the 'Raiders Trials' topic

http://www.footballnews.com.au/forum/vi ... 41&t=64022

Unfortunately, like ALL junior clubs know, there are not hundreds of qualified coaches out there in SA, sometimes clubs take who has put their hand up as they might have been the only ones who did put their hands up, and of course we all want somewhere for the kids to be able to play also, rather then turn them away and say "sorry, no coach ... no play" .........

I have said it before a few times, all the clubs over here are amateurs (compared to Europe), all the coaches are amateurs/volunteers, all volunteers and coaches try their best and make mistakes along the way, which the club or the coach sometimes learn the hard way ......

It's not the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last. Raiders coaching selectors have bad form. Two years ago the coach for u15 was a great coach the kids respected him and he respected them ,he brought some talented kids with him. What did Raiders do for him, gave the 16's job last year to a guy who couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag and the kids had no respect for him because he couldn't even talk to them, alot of kids stopped going to training because he wasn't teaching them anything. The club did'nt even have the decency to tell the coach in person that he did'nt have the job ,he got an email. :x

With 2 posts, I think we have found you .... are you currently coaching anywhere ?

Yep, those 'Raiders coaching selectors' have really got things wrong ..... In 2013 there will only be 2 UEFA B Licence holders and 3 AFC Licence holders at the club as Junior coaches

One bad apple should not spoil all the good work and reputation of a club doing their best to promote the game and do their best for countless youngsters, I am sure there are similar characters at every club who have not come to such attention.

Licences are paid and taught, understanding kids and communicating with them, and at times being a kid like them, can not.

However it is a great start.

I knew someone would bring up the 'its just piece of paper thing'

Volunteers giving up 3 months of their own time and thousands of $$$$ to learn football related coaching, to become better football coaches and be up to date with current worldwide football practices, needs and shows dedication and passion, and the will to learn

I agree with your comment about understanding kids and communicating with them and it is also a 'part' of being a junior coach ...... but does that mean school teachers or child care workers would be good football coaches ?

agree ZJ, I was just pointing out I have seen some highly accredited coaches that know alot, but have nothing to offer and players will not play under them. I have also seen coaches that have played many years through the systems (maybe not super league 300 plus gamers) and are awesome coaches.
