FULHAM v PONTIANS

Post by bigpond »

Big game on Sunday and there will be a normal BBQ until 12pm for the juniors and then after 12pm we will be throwing the chicken and lamb shashlicks, Chevaps and Greek sausages on the BBQ for the rest of the day.

Also after the game we will be putting a feed on for the players so win, lose or draw we would like to see the Pontians team come into the club rooms for a feed.

Cheers

I might have missed something Karmann but I dont recall Fulham getting invited into the clubrooms after the Pontians game for a spread of lamb and chicken shashlicks, chevaps, greek sausages, salads, bread rolls etc at no cost to them (not that we expect it) - the players from the 1st team are just expected to go in anyway without an invite for a drink out of respect for the other clubs.

It is not a standard Sunday as we normally just provide sausages and some steak for the away teams after a game and only a couple of teams this year have we done this for.

If it is standard for you guys then you dont have to come in if you dont want to but we have invited you all in for a nice feed so if you want to take it up, the offer is there.

Would like to come to this game. All depends on how quick the other half and I can find a new bed to buy! :|

The Polonia v San Marco game is also on the radar but also subject to a quick decision on the bed purchase.

May take the bike for a run if weather is good and watch a half of each.

Decisions, decisions!

Bigpond, not to sure where your hatred for the Pontians stems from?

The club has had some of the best feeds for ALL clubs in past and admittedly this year the menu has been a little less full on. Fulham were in the club rooms after our home game with your coach and several players eating sausages, chops etc maybe you as a supporter that should pay for food and not wait until the end of the day to freeload off the hard working players that put in on a Sunday

Not sure if the club should feel privileged that we are getting the "bonus plan" this week or if it is just the luck of the draw???

Im sure we will come in for a feed and a drink as the season will come to a close for the A's and it was been a difficult one so we may splurge ad get two drinks.

As for comments you made earlier this year can you please remind the Pontian President in person, or better still when your club presents the best players vouchers, of what you said so we can all see and meet the person who calls hard working voluenteers gypcies etc

Your club, who has not only changed location over their history but changed names, is moving in the right direction on and off the field. You will be in Div one year and if you keep your players might push for a top 3 finish in 13.

Thank you Fulham in advance for your hospitality

no hatred for Pontians at all - we have been called a lot worse over the years and if words are going to get you on the defensive then so be it.

John from Ikonic has catered for the few occassions we do this and we are very grateful to him.

In fairness to Pontian, they have been fantastic with the food they put on after the games for the last few years. Downs were the winners this year but since Pontian have been back in Divison 1, all of our players, coaches and supporters have been well looked after by Pontian. This year may not have been as much as previous years but it is still along way in front of most clubs. Fulham is normally pretty good also when hosting us.

Pontians hands down last year had the best spread of food after a game. This year it was still good though. Given the club hasn't had the best year, all the best to them this week.

Oooohhhhhh....

Sound like the fulham aren't going to just lie down as was suggested by the Pontian coach on the weekend. "Why even bother rocking up next week, we already have a handshake agreement with fulham" I believe were similar to the coaches words....

All the best with that one...

If Pontians get relegated will make for an interesting couple derbies against Florina next season. In saying that I don't see East being Vale so Pontians will stay up
