Interesting with the top three still in contention, BOSA and Sturt Marion both with catch up games to play..

It is a bit odd, especially quite nerve wracking for Villa who may not know if they have won the league for a week after the season.

Poor darlings. If they're that worried they could just roll over against Iggies and leave it up to BOSA and Sturt Marion to sort out the following week.

its pathetic from the saasl, tbh!

every year until this year, all catch up games HAD to be played before round 18!

oh well, lets hope Uni can do us all a favour and steal a point or two from their 2 games against Bosa!

2010 they weren't, I remember you guys sending a c grade side up to stirling after the end of the season to ensure their survival in Div 1 because you had the champion of champions game the week after.

So you are saying that the game was played before round 18 ie the last game of the season?

I distinctly remember being there at the game when it was a week after round 18 was to be played.

You guys from memory had already sewn up the league title so you didn't owe us anything to put out a competitive side, but for your goalie you would have copped an absolute hiding from Stirling.

Villa had nothing to gain by puting out a full strength team, it was our fault for leaving our league status in the hands of other clubs.

I was more trying to point out that the league hasn't always played it's catch up games before the end of the season.

MA HAWKS vs ST PETERS - SPOC's season is over, Hawks just have to turn up to win this one
SALS VILLA vs STURT MARION - still in with a chance
ADEL WANDERERS vs STIRLING - Wanderers will be up for this one, Stirling will need to be on top of their game to get anything
ADEL UNI 1 vs BOSA - can't see BOSA dropping points here
OLD IGNATIANS vs ADEL VILLA - again, can't see Villa slipping up with everything to play for

After Rounds 14-17:

We have 11 serious competitors, tipping regularly, but it's looking like BLACK HAWK DOWN has the competition stitched up going into the last round and a half, which is pretty incredible considering his team is in a relegation battle, and he has still been tipping them to at worst draw. Bravo. He and BlackBrian_7 top-tipped over the 4 rounds, 12/19 (one game was not played). Steve#6 is holding down 2nd for the moment.

Conterders for the top need to hope BHD's connection goes down, or he gets banned from teh interwebs, or something.

So last full round this weekend, and 3 catch up games coming up.
If you want to change any of your tips for the catch up games from what you had originally posted, go ahead.

Total, Tipper, Subtotal
43 BLACK HAWK DOWN 12
38 Steve#6 10
37 BlackBrian_7 12
35 Off The Ball 10
35 tibbaw 9

I wasn't playing for Stirling. I was playing for Uni and went to watch to see the result.

Say what you will but there were at least 6 players missing from when we played you 4 weeks before when you fielded a much stronger side.

There were 3 guys playing that wouldn't have been good enough for your reserve side. The reason I noticed was that they looked so out of their depth (you very well could have been one of them) it was funny.

Again you owed nothing to us or anyone else in the league to put a competitive team on the park, I was just pointing out that your statement was wrong.

I was there, and I know who played and who didnt.
And I didnt play
and yes, 2 players from the ressies were promoted, whats ur point?
And I'm sorry, but ur incorrect!
only 2 players from our starting 11 didnt play that game.

As i mentioned earlier, WE wanted to play earlier than after round 18, but Stirlings pitch wasnt up to it!

as I mentioned, We have and never will do any favours to any team!
well done to stirling though, they smashed us that game!

I stand corrected it was a 0-0 draw, however the GK was definitely the only thing that stopped Villa from copping a pasting.

I was looking back at the posts from that time and remembered how disappointing it was to get relegated with the final points and goal difference.

The side this year is already safe and will probably end up with a poorer record.

The result was 0-0. We should have won but the keeper had a great game. We had another catch up game the following week against st peters

You're right, I'm overstating it, but Saints would be disappointed they're not playing for a Championship & Hawks are fighting for their lives.
I notice you're not tipping a Saints win either?
