I would have liked to have had met the Downs in the final if we got there so that it would have been the two best sides from Sunday in the final. Would likely have to of beaten them at some stage to win the cup so hopefully its in the semi. Looking forward to it.

The reserves game will be very interesting and tough. The boys are very focused to win the double so here is hoping. The Double captains club at the Farm may have a new member is a few weeks time

Just because you are the 2nd best in sunday, doesnt mean you are in the top 2 between the leagues.

Haha never said you did, just commenting on the fact you thought it'd be good to have the best 2 sunday teams playing in the final, i personally think it'd be good to see the 2 best between the leagues whether that be two sunday teams or one of each in the final. Just making sure you dont forget about saturdays

Well there would be a bigger crowd there at least.

Villa are out of the cup so how could the best from Sat and the best from Sunday meet in the Cup Final?

I think ull find jay BOSA has two games in the season remaining where as villa have 1, if they win both the title will be BOSA's. Still got a bit to do though! Also BOSA has a tough game against gardens to play before any thoughts of who is in the final etc. maybe await the outcome before dismissing saturday teams in general this year.

why are the semi-final and final always played on a sunday, seems like a leg up for the sunday teams from the start, i can imagine the uproar if it was changed to saturdays

Could be a historical thing....the Saturday Divisions are latecomers to the SAASL...it started as a Sunday League for those that had to work or couldn't play Saturdays.

probably rightly so there would be uproar especially as the semi finals normally all get contested by Sunday teams.

Hindmarsh is more likely to be available on Sundays given the Federation Finals are played on Saturdays.

Didn't realise that. Who is their catch up game against. I bet the Roo cant wait to take on Gardens again.

Caretaker Coach wrote:Interesting that S Marion v S Villa, BOSA v Ade Uni, ( all div 1 ) + Comets v Jets ( div 2 ) all play each other in the last round, and then again the week after catch up games ?

I think it has already been mentioned, that it would have been better if these games were played before the last round.
That way by Saturday night everyone knows where they stand, and you know whether or not to celebrate after the game.

Do you think it takes the shine off it a little bit if you are one of the clubs not playing catch up games, and waiting for the outcome a week later, to determine where you will finish ?

Challenge Cup
230ko - Parafield vs Bosa
430ko - Downs vs Farm
In the ressies Pontian who finished 3rd behind a strong Downs & Farm in Sun comp vs St Peters who finished top in the Sat League with a solid defence only conceeding 15 goals may see a close game. Tough game in the second fixture for Gardens who havent been as strong as last season vs Farm who have to be favourites for the cup after finishing top but I'd like to think Gardens will want something from this season.

In the challenge cup Gardens having alot of experience playing at Hindmarsh which suits their game style vs BOSA who are a talented side & will want to fly the flag for the Sat comp into the final. Downs who have dominated the league this season were fortunate to take a point against Gardens in the last league game vs a very consistant Ingle Farm that may just stop Downs' aspirations to win the double.

Looking forward to the games this week after having last weekend off & good luck to everyone involved.

Little unfortunate for the Gardens supporters with the juniors also playing cup finals at the same time due to the change in dates with AU ACL game wouldve been nice for the juniors to play on the Saturday instead but thats the price of success.
