Spoils the integrity of the competition when we don't all play the same group of players.

its the same lads that have played all year the only issue is they dont have a full squad to fill 2 teams for the last few games of the season. As Lefty has mentioned before the League asked if Parafield Gardens would supply the Bhutanese community a place to play
soccer and supply the strips, venue and training gear. Lefty himself has coached and facilitated this team for the past 2 seasons. While it is unfortunate that they have had to forfiet a few games this year its good that these young refugee's are able to play organised soccer in the community.

I have absolutely no gripe with the Bhutanese lads whatsoever, and very much enjoyed the games against them. Football is about inclusion, and the Gardens should be applauded for facilitating such a noble endeavor.

My dig was at the fact we appear to be the only side who have played the Gardens Sunday C team. Had we not dropped 2 points that day we may have been in a healthier position, and perhaps even still in the race for promotion.

We are not, and that is as a result of our poor performance in games since.

If they've pulled out then all games should be stricken from the record, as if they weren't even there to start with.

I think Flinders will finish 2nd as they have a better run home and two catch up matches. They play Adelaide Uni twice, Parafield Gardens, Mt Compass, Hillbillies and Pitbulls. Whereas USC play Valley, Greenock, Iggies and Angkor. USC will still go up though as Flinders will likely choose to stay in Div 4.

One Tree Hill, Torrens Valley and possibly even Pitbulls all have mathematical chance but can't see USC and Flinders dropping too many points from here.

I waited there all night and NOTHING!

I'm beginning to think you don't intend to turn up at all. I'll give you another 5 minutes then I'm going indoors.

That's a fair gripe Gordon. While some would argue it's not within the spirit of the game, I don't think there is a rule saying they can't do this.
However, there is a rule that specifically applies to catch-up games and they won't be able to drop players from their Sunday teams down then.

Probably a bit like when Angkor beat Parafield 24-0. When you bend down to tie up your shoe laces or go off and take a piss - you miss three goals

Thats a good result for you guys, you dont look like dropping points between now & the end of the season, but we just need to win all our remaining games & see what happens. Do you if flinders will go up or not if they catch you?

Table would look something like this if Parafield games are awarded to opposition as forfiets, not sure if they are going to be played or not, going to be difficult to get them played? Think Lion have it wrapped up? We, OTH will not give up though, all we can do is try & win all our games & see what happens. Flinders could pip Lion but depends if they go up due to their 3rd div side, noticed they finished 3rd, so depends whether 3 or 2 go up with the 2nd only having 9? whatever happens think its been a good season for the division, was my first season playing here after playing in the mid to higher sunday divisions & i'm quite impressed with the quality of some of the football played, everybody seemed to be competitive bar the poor gardens lads, but they never gave up when we played them last week. Angkor the stands outs butstarted dropping a few points without the services of Boree.

P GD PTS
Angkor 19 77 51
USC Lion 19 24 41
-----------------------------------------------
One Tree Hill 19 36 35
Flinders(2) 17 11 33
Torrens Valley 19 6 31
Northern Pitbulls 19 2 30
Old Ignations(2) 18 4 26
Mt Compass 18 4 23
Greenock 16 9 21
East Adelaide 17 -9 13
Adelaide Uni (3) 18 -46 13
Parafield Gds(2) 19 -123 1

USC LION - Greenock (H), Iggies (A), Angkor (H)
OTH - Flinders (H), Torrens Valley (A), Greenock (H)
Flinders - OTH (A), Parafield Gardens (H), Pitbulls (A) Catch ups- Mt Compass (A), Adelaide Uni (A)

That is a good question. I doubt it. Flinders finished 3rd in Div 3. From what I heard a little while ago they were only pushing up 2 team from div 3 and dropping 1 team from div 2. So that means that Flinders wouldn't be allowed to go up from Div 4 as you cant have two clubs in the same division.

Anywho Flinders aint going to catch us :)

Also are Flinders going to actually play their catch up games?

As has been stated before I don't belive anyone will know as per usual the final make up of the Divisons untill next year.. after all who would have predicted that USC would have dropped out of Div 2 at the end of lsat season.

:D We will certainly try!

We deffinatly want to play our catch up games.. unfortunatly as they were both away games we can't control this, it's upto Mt Compass and Adelaide Uni. We have told both that we are happy to play them midweek under lights or whatever it takes to get them played!

they are saying in another post on the forum, ie the promotion relegation topic. the constition is 2 always go down, so to fill up the league above then 3 should go up, which then would be the same for our division 4, Flinders will have to play the catch ups then surely, be pritty disappointing if Uni & Mt compass decide to give them the points if it has a bearing on 3rd, if 3 do go up, think the league needs to clarify this so everybody knows what's at stake for the last 3 games? turning into a shambles is it not?

thats good that you will try play them, if 3rd spot is going to be a promotion spot then mt compass & uni should be made to play them, we are happy to play parafield if we have to.

but another thing that could have a bearing on all this is if any state league teams come across & go straight into division 1 as was proposed to them by the saasl at the start of the season , then it would be the normal 2 up 2 down youd think?
