Angry Junior Coaches
I am amazed with the amount of angry ssf coaches & Assistant's out on Sunday mornings.
The kids suffer for this CRAP
The coach says something stupid...the parents join in....the next thing u know their kids are flying in with tackles.
WAKE UP!!!!

Re: Angry Junior Coaches
The quicker we can re-educate or remove these "coaches" the better it will be for the future of our game, while watching or being game leader at SSF games I have seen both ends of the scale, some of the comments I sometimes hear directed at the kids beggars belief, whilst on the other hand I believe that this type of "win at all costs" coaching will die out in SSF over time as parents wake up to the fact that their children are not being developed at all and are just being used to boost certain coaches ego's.
More and more SSF coaches and their clubs are doing or trying to do the right thing and I have witnessed some great passages of play where I have enjoyed watching technically gifted kids being encouraged to express themselves without fear of being shouted at by their coaches.
Let the children play.

Yea I hear what u saying.... but we all create the future of this game in SA and I dont think a minute is ever wasted on kids football.
From when I played as a kid to now coaching kids it has improved...slowly but has improved

To some.....We had some great results this year, Most of my kids couldn't pass a ball pre season.
The last 4 or 5 matches they have strung consecutive passes and even scored a couple of goals in their games.
Next year when they play Under 9's again they will be so much better for it......Good result.

Re: Angry Junior Coaches
Tackles flying in at ssf game..... The kid struggle with tackling so I doubt they know how to go flying in....
I understand what ya saying and there is no need to aggressively angry but I believe we still need discipline and the juniors ( not necessarily as young as ssf ) at times need to be told in no uncertain terms when they are not doing what's right....

Re: Angry Junior Coaches
You have never seen 10 or 11 year olds with angry parents yelling at them tackling hard???
Re: Angry Junior Coaches
No I can't say I have... Mostly they sook.... I had a go at the last dad I heard having a go at his 8 year old , calling him useless.....
Those parents should be ashamed of themselves.

You started off ok with this comment....totally correctSID wrote:Tackles flying in at ssf game..... The kid struggle with tackling so I doubt they know how to go flying in....
But then lost me with this...........SID wrote:I understand what ya saying and there is no need to aggressively angry but I believe we still need discipline and the juniors at times need to be told in no uncertain terms when they are not doing what's right....
What does that exactly mean?
What does "in no uncertain terms" mean?
Similar to the angry parent or coach?.....so you condone it?
What age would you consider this to be alright?
The young boys said unto him....."go up baldhead, go up"......so he did, rose like a salmon and nodded the ball into the net......1 nil!
Re: Angry Junior Coaches

I'm a bit concerned that you seem to condone getting angry with kids!
I just wanted clarification, not a hard question.

Must be a regular thing then after reading the drivel you post on here!SID wrote:I get angry at stupidity.....
You're regarded as a top junior coach, yet in a post about coaches getting angry with kids you think its ok to let them know in "no uncertain terms" when you deem they're not doing the right thing!
I just asked for clarification, that's all yet you swerve around the answer.

Re: Angry Junior Coaches
I don't need to swerve my friend.
I don't need to explain myself to you either.
Take it how you like, it makes not a skerries of difference to me.

Nice troll too SID. Well in, Matey.
Who?... Who is but a form, followed by the function of what... And what I am, is a man in a mask!
Re: Angry Junior Coaches
ultimately this is south australia - which is not a hotbed for international standard football talent - why get so serious? Johnnie's mum and dad need to realise thattheir kid is not going to be a superstar - at best he might end up getting 50 bucks a game

So why play in the elite cpmpetition? Johnny is better off at E&D
Re: Angry Junior Coaches
FFSA comps are not elite. a junior academy at a Madrid, barca, man city, chelsea etc may be an elite but FFSA is not mate - if you think it is then you are seriously deluded and probably a mum or dad of a little Johnnie that gets so worked up on a sunday morning.AL K HOLIC wrote:Fact Hunt wrote:ultimately this is south australia - which is not a hotbed for international standard football talent - why get so serious? Re: Angry Junior Coaches
Are you belittling the standard in South Australia Mr Hunt? You better watch out because clearly there are some on these forums who think that Australia is a hotbed of football talent in the world as witnessed by some stupid claims that the likes of Harry Kewell are "world class". Your statements may evoke some pretty strong reactions.

Players choose where they want to play don't they? E&D is great, so are FFSA clubs. The main difference is that to make a junior State representative team, players have a pathway through the FFSA that they don't have in E&D.

To even compare is a joke, however in SA the FFSA is the highest level of junior football and the only pathway to higher levels. It's about time everyone remembers that, and leaves the, 'good kick johnny' for the fun leagues which we have.

I don’t think that is quite right - "the messenger"
Coach’s quote "Good Coaches” Pick the players not the player choosing the club other than trialling within FFSA Clubs. Not too many players get a free meal ticket at Junior FFSA level clubs.
E&D is second rate and to hold a mindset of equality other than State pathway is in correct
FFSA should be the focus far greater than E&D status these days, where some still hold in high regard as you suggest.
Cant see a reason someone involved within either E&D or FFSA clubs could debate such as yourself, other than the fact.
