Pontian 2
Adel Villa 2

Good game played at a high tempo in the first half. Pontian tired after scoring 2 goals early in the second half and Villa came home strong to score two late goals.

Dont know about Villa but Pontians rotated a lot of players and even had at least 4 players from the b squad play and didnt look like they were out of their depth. Villa will do very well is div 3 sat even though they have lost 4 very good player in harpas hara simmions and t scalzi.

Good luck Villa and thanks for the game.

Hara and Harpas are at the pontians, Simmions is at Salisbury Inter (I think) and dont know about scalzi.

There has been a list posted before and most people know who we have got. Not many other clubs posting who they have recruited or lost so I'll leave this question alone at the minute. I m sure if you look hard enough you will find the answer to your question.

As for our home ground yeah we are still playing at Ridley Grove primary school. Pitch is a little hard but with the lack of water what can you do about it. Look forward to playing the raptors this year. Looks like you wont get to play us at home till the last game of the year.

With all the class players and sponsors that you guys have, surely its about time that you found a better ground, that pitch is always hard and bumpy. Surely you dont want you star signings to cop an injury playing on that horrible pitch.

yeah ridley grove was one of the worst grounds of div 3 last year and im sure the lack of rain isnt helping either. has an attempt been made to find a new ground, especially with all the new experienced players joining the club?

but pontians were clearly the best side in div 3 last season and it looks as though you guys might be the team to beat again

The club has been looking at other venues for a few years now but due to various issues have been unable to move. Our players old and new have been training on the pitch twice a week for three weeks now and not too many complaints so we just deal with it until something new comes up

Steve certainly is and is playing well already and looking fitter than last year, Ross just got married and has told the club he will back in training after the honeymoon but with most newly weds they should be fit already after a few weeks of horizontal movements :D :D :D

So yeah both boys happy at Pontians. We have lost Ang to San Marco, Tori to White City and the two stavropoulos brothers.

only saw last 10 of first half and second half so can only comment on that, but the villa side(half of last years)dominated the second half.pontians got the second against the run of play.and villa scored 2 toward the end.did the two wide midfielders get a touch for pontians??
Knight7 was that heineken??

Yes v Corona - 12 points I think or was it 15? I still think Pontian will win Division 2 but not by more than 12 points simply because they will drop some points

Knight 7 I hope you are not judging the Pontians just on that performance? Some people on here are giving the Pontians huge raps and the boys at the club are being realistic we just want to do well. I hope the pontians win the league but by how much or if!, I dont know, time will tell. What my point is though you can judge a side based on one game and a trail game at that. Either way I hope one of you guys win the bet :D

I didn't even see the game - it's just a bet I have with someone who isn't even at your club but was going on about them winning Div 2 by 15 points or more

Thanks for the suggestion and we shall try. However, we don't have the luxury of forking out the dosh to lure the big players to the club or get a star import from the super league half way through the season.

West beach has a great club atmosphere where the focus on the football is more than matched by the focus on the piss up
I am sure West Beach is a good club - it has been around for years - my comment was directed at onthepissagain not West Beach the club.

Fulham have some ex players who have gone over to West Beach this year as they didn't want to play in DIV 1 and we wish them all the best there.

I dont have a problem with clubs who dont have the desire to fight there way into DIV 1 - some clubs are just happy to stay DIV 2 or lower.

That's a bit of a cop out to those lads that have come out to the beach, that is, to say that they came over cause they didn't want to play DIV 1. That is NOT the reason that they came over but more about club politics and atmosphere down at fulham. Don't know if this is true, as I think Fulham is a good club and have a good bunch of lads...... but it's untrue that these lads left cause they didn't want to play first division, who wouldn't want to play first division????

Also, the desire is there to go to the first div, just a matter of putting the results on the board and slogging away..... Will be tough this year with Pontians in the league as they are a very good team. Maybe we could come third this year and get a free ride up :)
Its amazing how easy it is to get people to bite on this forum. when does training start at the club? came down the other week but no one was there, so went to the pub instead :D will come down to watch the farm game on sunday

Training, at the club, is every thursday at 6:30.

I'm sure you'll be fit and ready to go from the rigorous sessions down at night owls this summer :)

it was a trial game and more important at this time of the year is passing and fitness so you gel as a team and we did plenty of that. goals will always come..florina had possession most of the night & after three weeks of running drills and football drills we have seen no game time ..in the the first half we were well on top & made numerous changes every 15 minutes and we haven't had shooting practice or drills yet.. all fitness work and ball work and could of been in front quite a few times on the night. saw plenty of div one last year and fitness was florina's problem..
florina will be fine.. go ahead & under estimate that's fine by me..
