I understand teams wouldn't want to give up home advantage but why not apart from that? They work well enough in England. At this stage of the season I would sometimes play 4 games in a weekend. I once played 10 games in 9 days.

you forgot to add these mothers day, fathers day, easter - christian or orthodox, St Paul of the brewery day, good friday, bad sunday, walt disney's birthday and brian connoly from the sweet rememberance day......
