Every club has it's own way of operating and developing. None is perfect but all Clubs continue to improve and develop; we are all unique and beneficial to the game in South Australia.
The Croydon Kings FC system is one we have been working on for several years, with adjustments made to suit. It requires all members work with the Club, and that the club is for all members; the primary goal is to develop young players into experienced players, capable of playing in the Senior leagues.
If you are a Coach that can work in a group that values player development and movement to higher levels over building a team to win at all cost, fill out an application form and email to:Or post to:

For several years, the CKFC has offered free Monday Night Development training to all players that wish to attend. The club recommends three training session per week, from the ages of U12 up, and encourage coaches from U14 up to train 3 nights per week.
In 2011, CKFC began introducing player assessment and movement across the JPL and JSL teams according to player ability and attitude. This was implemented in only a few age groups to assess viability and outcomes.
2012 season: CKFC changed the internal structure of the JPL and JSL system. Both leagues are used for development, with players moving between leagues depending on their ability and attitude.
Player movement occurs in the older age groups and is discussed with Junior and Senior Football Directors/Development Coaches, and team Coaches and Managers. Player and parents are kept informed at all stages.
Teams are grouped into age categories:SSF teams receive Club assistance via a Monday night Development Training, and monthly Coach the Coaches sessions.
- SSF - U11,
U12 - U14,
U15 - U17, with a sub group; U17 - U19.
U12 - U14 teams are the age groups where players are assessed and moved into teams that better suit their ability.
U15 - U17 is an age group where player development increases dramatically. Players are moved into teams that best suit their ability, however, they are also given an opportunity to try out training and playing up in higher age groups; including the U19's.
The U17 and U19 teams rotate players on a constant basis; U19 players move up for experience, and to assist the Reserves. The U17 players move up to the U19's for the same reason. With players from the U15 - U16 experiencing U17 football during this process.
JPL and JSL players are assessed equally, with all players given an opportunity to play at their highest level.
During the final stage of the year, players ability and skill levels are being assessed for placement into age groups for Season 2013.
This year has already seen nine players from the U17's moved up permanently, which allowed players from other age groups (JSL and JPL examples available) to fill spots. This only happens with consultation and agreement from the Coach, player and parents.
The introduction of this system is to develop players and allow them to play at the highest level. With the primary goal of playing First team football, then onto higher outcomes.
