Elizabeth Downs Vs Pontian Eagles

Post by spurs73spurs »

For all who are interested, I have posted a few photos I took at the Downs Vs Pontian Eagles game I went to yesterday. They can be found at the following link.

Also, if anyone knows this bloke, can they let him know I kept up my end of the deal and posted his photo on here for him.

Cheers

He's a top bloke, used to deal with him many years ago at Smokemart - haven't had a chat to him for a while.

Always a great laugh.

Also swannsong you will have to get down and check out the new lights, the lads were saying they had 8 of the twenty on and it was like the middle of summer. Red was saying if they put all twenty on he will have to wear sun block at night 8) 8) 8) , gone are the days of the crappy ones you would of trained under swanny. Junior pitches are also getting new lights next year and there is a big one in the car park as well so the parafeltchers can see what gear we have in our cars to steal....

Top bloke and fantastic family. Has a great shop on Days Road (Con and Poppi's) and won Croydon supporter of the year when he was cheering on his son when he played with us. One of the most generous blokes I know and only thing wrong with him is he barracks for St Kilda in AFL!

Hardhats...we couldn't afford hardhats....you were lucky !
We used to train in middle 'o main north road at peak hour with a ball made out of paper wrapped with masking tape.

In all seriousness... I do remember vaguely (due to my age) when they had some lights strapped onto the back (or fronts) of cars for training.
