While it was a wasted year for club and player, I must say you didn't hear anything come from Elia during the year about how he should play, etc (*cough* like Giovinco), he knuckled down and did his work, unfortunately didn't work out for either party.
Too true.

Well done to Elia for sticking out the entire season even though it wasn't going his way. Hope he does well again in Germany.

I think this also says something about the morale that Conte has built up within the group. Everyone knows their roles and no one is safe in the starting line-up.

You can bet that he won't take any crap from Gio, but let's hope it doesn't get to that stage.

There hasn't even been an official announcement to say that we've signed Troisi.

Unless they're planning to unveil him and send him to Atalanta at the same time?

I reckon that too. Although there's been nothing to say he's even close to signing since the news of the possible Pescara switch first emerged.

And a chance Armero will join from Udinese. Few conflicting reports at the moment, Tuttosport say Juve looking at a loan with option to buy (9-10mil a quoted figure) while Sky saying Udinese do not want to loan. If it happens it will be a fantastic signing.

I know we say this every year but Udinese are worrying me.

Isla, Asamoah, Handanovic and now possibly Armero to leave, which follows on from the last few seasons of losing Alexis, Inler, Pepe, Zapata, etc. I'm sure there's a couple more who I've forgotten as well. Surely it all has to catch up with them soon?

Hopefully they can still qualify for the CL and have a good run in the competition.

Muriel I think can shine for Udinese, Brkic in goal looks good too. Willians meant to be a promising midfielder. But I can't see them going as well as the past two seasons. Getting to the Europa League will be a big achievement. You get the feeling it is maybe a few sales too many in the past few years, even if their scouting network is second to none at the moment.

But when led by Guidolin and Di Natale they will continue to be great value and a top-half club.

Word everywhere is that we've shifted our main striker hunt to Jovetic.

Brilliant player, but not worth the 30m that the Viola are apparently asking for.

Even though he's not a traditional striker, he could be the 20-25 goal a season player we need and is still only 22.

I think Barca have proved over the years that you can play without a true number 9 and still win, as Spain also proved at the Euro.

Vucinic-Jovetic-Giovinco would still be scary for any defence to face.

An awful option perhaps.

Would be a strange move as he doesn't fit the Conte ethos. Whilst talented he is a very lazy player and Conte likes to play a high pressing game that starts from the forwards. Thats the reason why the likes of Pepe and Giaccherini excelled more in Conte's early season 4-3-3 than Krasic and Elia, who whilst more skilful, lacked the the capacity to defend properly.

Marco Motta to Bologna on loan for the season with option to buy. No real surprises there, was never going to challenge Isla, Lichtsteiner or Caceres for the RB spot.

Heard Juve are very close to signing Poli, and hoping to use him as the bait to get Jovetic.

Hard to seperate the bulls**t from the real stories at the moment. A lot of links still pushing RVP around, but with his wage demands being so high I can't see Marotta & Co bringing him to Turin, would be the highest payed player at Juve if it was to eventuate, would love to have him in the team, but not at any cost.

Personally I think our best option is still Jovetic, but one other player which hasn't been mentioned is Lewandowski...of similar ilk to RVP (but much younger), has a very decent scoring record and won't cost the world. Offload Matri or Quags, most probably Matri, bring in Lewandowski & Jovetic. Forward options for the season as follows: Quags, Lewandowski, Vucinic, Giovinco, Jovetic. There is also Boakye, who looks to have plenty of potential as well.

Only problem is Lewandowski won't come cheap either. Reports have said that a couple of English clubs (including Chelsea) have made bids of around 20m for him and Dortmund won't budge.

I think Matri will end up at Milan along with either Tevez or Dzeko. Boakye is exciting but he will most probably leave on loan for this season at least.

I always a thought a good option for the ST position would be Artjoms Rudņevs, who played against Juve when we were in the Europa League. Tore us apart one game with a hatty when at Lech Poznan, but just realised he's been transferred to Hamburg. Another exciting talent for the Bundesliga!

Turkish sources are claiming that Fenerbahce have agreed terms with Milos Krasic, we were also interested in him before he signed for Juve. Any truth to this? As I never believe what I see in the Turkish papers.

Turkish sources are claiming that he's in Istanbul right now. Only transfer fee I've seen was 11m euros, I'm never into transfer fee's but that is way too much imo.

Caceres out for 6 weeks and Pepe for 2 after injuries in the TIM Cup.

Could have been worse really, with initial reports suggesting that Caceres could have missed up to 6 months.

We have good cover at RB with Licht and Isla, while the CB department should still be fine with Chiellini, Barzagli, Bonucci, Lucio and Masi.

Any word when Isla will start training after the knee injury he had at Udinese?

Haven't heard anything about it. On a semi-related note, I liked the look of Lichtsteiner as a wingback the other night, especially vs Inter. Last season he struggled in that role compared to when he played as a fullback.

Another positive is that Juve are not only building the squad to challenge at all levels in this day and age, but also looking to the future.

Leali, Pinsoglio, Sorensen, Masi, Marrone, Boakye, Bouy, Giandonato, Rossi, Immobile, Libertazzi, and Pasquato are all currently at Juve, or have been recently loaned out or co-owned with other teams.

That's a pretty solid looking squad in about 3-4 years time.

Regarding Isla:
Antonio Conte has welcomed back the eight Azzurri involved in this summer’s European Championships.

After working with a group of eighteen first-team players - bolstered by the presence of ten Primavera prospects - over the Bianconeri’s pre-season build-up in Val d’Aosta, today brought the international contingent’s return to Juventus Center for the first time since May.

While those who figured in Chatillon/Saint-Vincent were granted a well-earned day’s rest, Buffon, Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini, Giaccherini, Marchisio, Pirlo and new signing Giovinco were in Vinovo bright and early to undergo the Mapei fitness tests conducted by their team-mates on day two of the pre-season training camp.

Joining them were Brazilian defender Lucio, who had yet to complete the assessments after linking up with the Bianconeri on 14 July, and Isla, who continued his comeback from injury with an individual training programme.

Meanwhile, Chiellini began a specific fitness programme designed to shake off the injury sustained in the European Championship final against Spain.

Tomorrow will see Juventus ramp up the level of their preparations ahead of their upcoming friendly fixtures against Hertha Berlin, Benfica and Malaga.

Paul Pogba finally having his medical over the weekend. That only took about 2 months longer than it should have.

Hopefully he is worth all the trouble and hype. Very, very strong CM compartment now with Marchisio, Vidal and Pirlo to be backed up by Pogba, Marrone, Asamoah and Padoin.

Pogba was at the Euro u19 Championships for a period which is why all is being sorted out now. But after all this, let's now see what he can do.

And we might have to go for a defender if the worst happens to Bonucci. Just on that, I can see why Conte may accept the plea bargain and take a three month ban (would rule him out of the Super Cup, ten Serie A and three CL matches) in a court where Carobbio's evidence is somehow seen as valid, you can see the reason to not fight. But you know that is the lawyers who want that outcome, not the man himself. If Conte is innocent, you know he will fight tooth and nail to clear his name and if so, he does not deserve a stain on his record. People like Masiello and Carobbio do. But we shall wait and see what happens there.

Ranocchia on the radar apparently.

Bruno Alves the other alternative.

Bocchetti apparently the first choice should Bonucci get suspended.

Shouldn't be too expensive given that he will be in the last year of his contract. Would prefer him to Bruno Alves. Ranocchia I think will stay at Inter. Surely they wouldn't let us take two of their CB's in a couple of weeks

Krasic 2 goals in the last 2 friendlies.

Any remote possibility that he could end up staying, especially if Pepe is suspended due to the scandal?
