Cup final on the 2nd of September? Really? That's 3 weeks before the season ends for most divisions.
Re: Cup Competition 2012
It is the week after the other divisions finish though. I'd hate to have to wait a month after the season finishes to play one more game.nanstar wrote:Cup final on the 2nd of September? Really? That's 3 weeks before the season ends for most divisions.
Re: Cup Competition 2012
Yeah my team had to wait about a month after the season ended to play in the cup final. It was like pre season again! We just trained and I think even had trial games for the month. Annoying!heyitsme wrote:It is the week after the other divisions finish though. Re: Cup Competition 2012
clearly this has been thought out thoroughly, but not sure why div 2 sides who make the first round have to go up against prem teams?
what hope does that leave for them?

Would think this would be a good chance for you girls to show what you can do? Isn't in Prems/Reserves division where you feel you belong anyway?sea monkeys wrote:clearly this has been thought out thoroughly, but not sure why div 2 sides who make the first round have to go up against prem teams?

Re: Cup Competition 2012
Point made, but we are looking forward to the oppurtunity of playing very competetive sides.
Im not aiming my question at my club only though, im talking for all div 2 sides, why play them against the prems/reserves? Im just confused as to why they put completely different leagues playing against eachother.

Re: Cup Competition 2012
FFSA Forfeit Fine is $100
Why any Div 1 or 2 team would want to win in the first round and have the chance to be placed against a prems team in the next round is beyond me..
Division 1 and 2 are good enough to be called 'social division' for a reason yet suddenly are up against "elite" prems in the cup - pft.. fluff that!

Well you have to win round 1 to come up against a Prem side! I wouldn't mind seeing a social division team beat an elite teamsea monkeys wrote:Point made, but we are looking forward to the oppurtunity of playing very competetive sides.

Definitely would be interesting.
Re: Cup Competition 2012
I was wondering.. if a reserve, div 1 or 2 team face a prems side in the next cup round, what will the interchange system be?
Will it be substitute like in prems (once off, can not go back on)
Or will it be free interchange like the lower levels
Will the prems team be substitute while the lower div interchange? I'm guessing the whole Adelaide Airport Cup will be substitute rules.
Also, what interchange system was played in round 1? Was interchange allowed in this round when prems teams were not playing? Will you be allowed to play interchange if you are not playing a prems team? Why should a "social" division be made to play substitute against the prems but not against other teams in one competition?
Any official answer?
Cheers

Re: Cup Competition 2012
Not an official answer, however last season whena State league team played a Prems team it was substitutes not interchange.
As for why, thems the rules.

Re: Cup Competition 2012
You play the rules of the high league which SUCKS TURKEYS!!
e.g. Division 1 vs Prems = No Interchange
Hence Division 1 or 2 or Reserves that have players who rely on interchange to make it through the game will be at a severe disadvatage playing vs Prems - not only because Majority of Prems teams are playing at a completely different level of skill and intensity but goodbye to the bench as well - hrmph!!!

Re: Cup Competition 2012
When did Sunday games become mid week night games nowhere near any clubs. So dumb and so hard for many working families to get to. FFSA have no idea about the players/parents.
Re: Cup Competition 2012
Apparently SAWSA park is unavailable?!?!...... But seriously who wants to go to Burton (at the best of times) especially mid-week for ridiculous kick-offs!!!! I know for my team, half our team is having to take a half day or sick day from work to get there on time and the other half are missing school. It's a total joke, if you play early you miss school or work if you play late you get home at stupid o'clock at night and are tired for school or work!!!! Last I heard the FFSA are not prepared to have any movement on dates/venues or kick off times, surely if both clubs can come up with an alternative they should be able too!!!
