Re: cup updates and results
Is it time that the SAASL implement what some of the other football assocs. in that once a player has reached 10 games through suspensions they are banned from the league ...... i wouldn't include accumulated yellow cards

For all their faults I would be pretty confident that what is written on these forums is not used in any decision in regards to the lenght of suspensions by the SAASL.
King Nugget, before we start having a go at the SAASL for the length of any suspensions given it should be noted that we do not know what the Referees report acutally stated and what the basis (if any other than the referees report) for any suspension applied by the SAASL was.KING NUGGETT wrote:idiot is allowed to play football again this season this Association has a major problem, the League needs to make a stand & show that this sort off abusive behaviour towards their Referees will NOT BE TOLERATED anymore!

Only one Saturday team (BOSA) left in the Seniors, but five in the Reserves.

To some extent numbnuts i agree with your dribble. The actions following the sending off were out of order and not acceptable nor should they be defended. I am not defending them. Calling him an idiot is also innapropriate as you nothing about the lad. We have worked very hard on this issue and will continue to do so. What the end result will be i dont know. I will say that aside from anger management issues he is a fantastic bloke and player and he is one of few who takes our results and the performance of the team personally because he is committed to the badge on the shirt and like Mo his actions are more a result of frustration albeit for diffferent reasons. The club is as much dissapointed and frustrated at these scenarios and again i will say that we are looking at ways to improve. I dont believe there is any club out there that enjoys being in that type of situation especially when the campaign is not going according to desires. My opinion on the referees performance is entirely seperate to the proceeding fracas and i will be the first to say that regardless of the decisions made or the treatment you recieve actions are not justifiable with violence etc etcKING NUGGETT wrote:Its a major problem when a Macedonia S.C executive can come on to this forum & try to justify their players actions on Sunday because he gets constant attention from oppersition players??
Their players abuse & intimidation of the referee when he was give a red card was absolutley disgusting & should not be tolerate, let alone defended. If this idiot is allowed to play football again this season this Association has a major problem, the League needs to make a stand & show that this sort off abusive behaviour towards their Referees will NOT BE TOLERATED anymore!
No matter how bad of a game the Referee's having.
Mohamad was suspended for the season by the GARDENS when he lost it, not the League & we were fighting relegation that year so it was a Hard decission for our Club to make, but it had to be done! And being constantly racially vilified did not help him with his defense, because the Referee didnt do it!

As i have said many times. Re: cup updates and results
Agreed GIAE, sometimes it just depends on the luck of the draw. I would certainly say that from watching St Peters on Sat they didn't stacked their ressies side to beat PHW, and BOSA had a fairly easy draw against Grove etc etc.. They could just have easily been drawn against each other and then only 1 side would have made it through and not both. Depending on the draw for the quarters you could very well end up with 4 sat sides in the semi, or just 1.God is an Englishman wrote:As i have said many times. I completely understand the predicament your faced with Clubman because our Club was in a similar situation with Mohamad not so long ago, results not going our way & facing religation with one of our Best players losing his sh*t. We as a Club had to take action & show the League it's Clubs & our players that this sort of behaviour towards Referees would not be tolerated by our Club.handy_man wrote:To some extent numbnuts i agree with your dribble. I was on the disciplinary committee & was not in favor of such a lengthy suspension for Mohamad as I thought a season off was way too harsh for his actions & it would also hurt our Club chances of survival. Looking back in retrospect though it was an appropriate punishment & I believe contributed greatly to our later success. At the time of the Mohamad incident the Gardens were a very undisciplined Team & that cost us games. We found & have the results to prove that after the Mohamad suspension the Gardens became a very disciplined Club which I believe contributed to the success we have just seen from our Club. Your right I dont know the kid at all & I was referring to his actions Sunday when I called him an idiot. Good Luck with this because like us I believe history will define you by your Clubs actions.

Hefty ban then, must have been a major thing he did wrong. I assume he just went to a new club.

Nope it was sanctioned by the League & he served the time. He left Gardens & played for Brahma the year after.
It was harsh for both him & our Club remembering he was the Leading Goal Scorer & Player of the Year the year before.
We became a much more disciplined Club after that & as I said I believed that it was a major contributing factor to our later success.

It was a tough decision by Gardens. Anyone who knows Mo, knows truly that he is a gentle giant and a kind-hearted individual. But the Gardens took a firm stand on it and things turned around for them after that.

Re: cup updates and results
At first, I thought it was a bit much to ban a player for a whole season. But, I think by doing this you have a set a standard at the Gardens that all involved understand it needs to be adhered to. I think all clubs should follow this example, as since Parafield have been the benchmark in Sun Div 1.
No one player is bigger than a club, and no matter what the decisions of referees, this behaviour is not acceptable. In the last couple of years there have been too many of these incidents, and the SAASL needs to really have a good look at itself and implement harsher penalties, like the Gardens who banned one of their main players for the year.

Must have been something major if SAASL banned him as well for that length of time.

He got into the Referees face abused the bejesus out of him then when he was given a red card snatch the Referees note book & cards out of his hands & tore them up.
Our Clubs disciplinary committee thought as did the League that his action constituted assault on a official when he snatch the Referees cards, albeit a lesser form of assault.

from that description, he's lucky to only get a year. Seen players get "sine die" for that.

If players are good enough to go from Munno to any div1 club, and start in the first team, doesnt this just show that Munno have under-performed over the years? ;)
Yes Andy "coach" b, lol
The way the lads are playing and with the players we have at this present time maybe we will start our return to div2 and maybe even div1 in a few years

I am a Gardens supporter and was about 15 meters away from the action and it was one of the funniest things I ever saw on a soccer pitch. When the red card was raised it was akin to a red rag to a bull. Mo went absolutely ballistic. To be fair the ref was never in any danger at all, and apart from the card and book being snatched from his hand was not touched.
Up until Mo playing for Gardens I can honestly say I had never witnessed so much racial vilification in my life and it was totally disgraceful. The verbal abuse he copped over the time he played for us was 100 times worse than the torn up card indicident ever was, and for that reason I have always believed the committee probably overreacted with the length of the ban. Unfortunately the club was left with very little choice because unless you were there it will always sound much worse than it actually was and the club not only had to do something but it had to be seen to be doing something. It was a cruel end to a fantastic time at Gardens more so given that he is such a quiet unassuming bloke.

Mo ran from the other side of the pitch to get up in the refs face after a different player from Parafield received a yellow, he proceeded to get in the refs face. The ref had enough and gave him a yellow, he still would not leave it alone and received another yellow then red.........the rest, well that was just hilarious.

I believe that Munno could be a fairly big force in div1 if they get it together over the next few years. Its a large club with a good set-up. Like has been said, some quality players have gone through the club so there is no question over individual ability. Start racking those results up and youll be pushing for Div.1 before you know it
