Catch up game between Uni and Hawks B's ended 1-1. More antics from the Hawks player who obviously hadn't resolved his anger management issues from round 1.

How did the pitch hold up?gareth_bale wrote:Catch up game between Uni and Hawks B's ended 1-1. More antics from the Hawks player who obviously hadn't resolved his anger management issues from round 1.
I watched the A's game between both teams when this fixture was originally supposed to have been played and the ground was well and truly destroyed (it wasn't even raining that day).

Pitch did not hold up well at all. There were still puddles on the pitch before kick-off. Terrible conditions to play in.The Smiff wrote:How did the pitch hold up?gareth_bale wrote:Catch up game between Uni and Hawks B's ended 1-1. Lucky result for spoc.. West should of had a pen and the square post cost us a goal to.. Ohwell now We look to take out the league.
Re: cup updates and results
I'd question that, SPOC had chances to kill the game off in normal time. It was one of those games neither team deserved to lose, but someone had to!keeper86 wrote:Lucky result for spoc.. West should of had a pen and the square post cost us a goal to.. Ohwell now We look to take out the league.
SPOC looked out on their feet during the last 30 mins of normal time, somehow picked themselves up to get the win.
Funniest moment was when the ref wanted to start the 2nd half of ET and the SPOC keeper had gone for a toilet break!

Doing better in Div 1 than most thought and the only
team to beat the Downs So far this year ...!
I'm sure Earl would say it hasn't been as good as he hoped but he should be happy with the year so far

Villa B 1 v Stirling B 2
Good game played in good spirits and well officiated. Villa went 1-0 up thanks to a penalty for a hand ball in the box. Second half Stirling came out pressing for the equalizer and got it after a ball was crossed in low across the 6 yard box for an easy tap in at the near post. 1-1 after 90 minutes. Extra time, Villa under manned with just the one sub started to run out of legs but put in a gutsy effort which looked like getting them to penalties, however poor defending from a corner allowed Stirling's big man a free header which he put away in the final minute of extra time.
Very proud of the lads considering the number of outs we had and the fact they were up against a good Stirling side which obviously had a few A's players in after there first team were knocked out early in the comp. Unlucky for us and good luck to Stirling for the rest of the Cup.

Re: cup updates and results
the shape of the posts do not cost you goals , inaccurate shooting does. I always have a chuckle when teams say they should have won the game because they hit the posts, the bar etc - to me that is not luck, means you werent accurate enough with the attempts on goal.keeper86 wrote:Lucky result for spoc.. SPOC 3-4 DOWNS
Managed to get out and watch a really good game of football yesterday...
It was always going to be the speed of saints vs the experience of downs. The first half was a really tough contest with each team working out the other. Downs just edged out the first half with controlling the pace of the game. Saints could of had a couple of penalties, but their quick winger made a little too much of them and brad waved play on. Downs could have also had Brennan sent of for a couple of slaps to the face And a little head but, but brad again dealt with it well and the handbags were left at home. The game went goal for goal for a while there with saint just not able to lock down for the 5 minutes following equalizing. During this time the downs keeper pulled off two unbelievable saves to keep the downs in the game.
In the end well done to downs winning with their experience and covered their 'outs' extremely well...
