Re: RANGERS TO START IN DIV 3
SPL & scottish football now more irrelevant than ever before.
good decision for the game, how long will it be before the broadcasters ask for their money back ?
a-League will be more interesting to watch, unless of course you are a Celtic Bhuoy.

Re: RANGERS TO START IN DIV 3
It was the right decision in the interest of fairness. Problem is the Scottish FA and clubs are to blame for allowing two clubs to become so dominant that if one ever did fall over, they would have a joke of a competition.

Don't need to ask for their money back, they're due to sign a new agreement this year. May now be re-negotiated.Reg Deadman wrote:Based on what?Faith No More wrote:how long will it be before the broadcasters ask for their money back ?

When you have countries with only a small population there are normally only 2 big teams which most of the population support, thus they will dominate the league , every now and then a different team will jag a title, as for the lobsidedness, different winners for the past 50 years in other countries, 5 in Turkey, 4 in Portugal, 8 in Spain, 7 in SCOTLAND, 11 in Germany , 11 in Italy, 12 in England (14 titles to Man utd in the past 20 yrs, is that lobsidedness) the biggest supported clubs will normally dominate the leagues

What are those figures over a 20 year period?
Morally this is the right decision, but economically it's a VERY stupid decision.
Re: RANGERS TO START IN DIV 3
As damaging as it will be in the short term, there was no other choice, you can't not punish a team because their the second biggest in the country

Talk of an SPL 2 involving Rangers and Div 1 clubs. Kind of like a Serie B. It's not over yet.

the clubs dont want rangers in spl 2, they want them to pay, but a re-shuffle has been mooted for years, the spl and sfa are looking at it now as they are all hunspernunz wrote:Talk of an SPL 2 involving Rangers and Div 1 clubs. Kind of like a Serie B. It's not over yet.

Re: RANGERS TO START IN DIV 3
I would have thought another team winning the SPL would be good for Scottish football. Your lot ensured the league was a one horse race for most of the 90's and a 2 horse race in the 2000's by financial doping. A strong Aberdeen and Dundee United is what the league is crying out for in addition to a level playing field for the first time in 2 decades. Should be a good season. Last season 3 teams won trophies, you can't ask for more than that.dr bronski wrote:as a rangers supporter.... yeh do the crime do the time... ok .. as i was born and bred.. a stone throw from ibrox and watched them for years and played at rangers boys club .. scottish football is shiraz even before all this. also theres not a great deal of thought going into this decision.. ametuers... hold up .. whats even worse than rangers not being in the league. is celtic not winning itBomber wrote:Small grenache syndrome.yogi wrote:■Scottish Football League clubs vote Rangers into Division Three for next season

It still makes me laugh that the fenians call finding a decent bit of tax avoidance to be "financial doping".

When will you terrorist scum realise that the newco isn't rangers. It's akin to punishing afc wimbledon for something MK dons have done wrong.DOC wrote:the clubs dont want rangers in spl 2, they want them to pay, but a re-shuffle has been mooted for years, the spl and sfa are looking at it now as they are all hunspernunz wrote:Talk of an SPL 2 involving Rangers and Div 1 clubs.
