The incident I refer to is in no relation to the incident you talk of against the Vipers. Didn't know that happened... Yet another fight he has started. What I talk of was last year against the Croydon Cougars... Believe me, there was no one hiding from our club that day, and to add to that, there was no report made either. What I am saying and the story you talk of are 2 separate incidents, but funnily enough, involve the same guy, a cop I might add. Think you better get your facts right you farkn tool.

Yeh well said King9. All cops hide behind there badge dont they? Isnt that what makes them feel big these days?TheKing#9 wrote:They won't do shi t... I have known one of them for many years and is a good mate and never thought I'd see him with a cheap shot to the back of the head when someone isn't watching... But hey I guess that's just the way they all roll
Tackles and sledging are all part of the game, but cheap shots when somebody isnt looking, well thats just sad really

Re: Results - Saturday 30 June
Haven't had much of a problem with ARBE. Mind you, they've long left Div 4 behind
When I first started kitting out for Uni I remember going to their place one Saturday for a game. They won (by 3 or so IIRC), but still didn't stop them from carrying themselves with an air of twatishness that bordered between playing "hard but fair" and being just general bastards with sneaky goings on off the ball.
Remember them coming to our place and a couple of their guys thought it'd be a fucking hoot standing behind me in goals blowing vuvuzelas for most of the 90 minutes. Was pretty pissed off at the time, but looking back it was a pretty novel way of trying to put people off.

Mate, I don't know anyone involved or anything about any of the incidents that you are getting fairly fired up about but I thought I might add a little subplot to the proceedings.5cougarsthanx wrote:The incident I refer to is in no relation to the incident you talk of against the Vipers. What I am saying and the story you talk of are 2 separate incidents, but funnily enough, involve the same guy, a cop I might add. Think you better get your facts right you farkn tool.
I have played this game for over 26 years at numerous levels and for numerous clubs and can comfortably sit here content in the knowledge that I have never taken a dive, never feigned injury, never attacked another player physically, always played the ball, and above all never lost sight of the fact that as much as I love this game it is only that... a game. Funnily enough I haven't really been involved in too many unsavoury incidents (coincidence?).
Anyway, last weekend I rolled along on Saturday (as in the 23rd) to have a kick in the B's and, at about the ten minute mark, two players contested the ball and ended up tangling and going arse up. They got up a bit heated with each other as the ball was whisked away.
A senior player for the other team (a really well built bloke) stepped in (which was completely unecessary as there wasn't much in it) but it seemed he felt he had to go into bat for his younger teammate. He was extremely fired up and started getting fairly physical with our player (bit of heavy shoving, a few choice words etc). As I ran over back into position (I had been marking the striker who had gone in to stick up for his teammate) there was still a bit of feeling and a few words but they had separated.
As I got over there I made a comment to "just get on with the game lads". By this stage I had re-marked the player and was standing behind him, slightly off to one side. After I made the comment, without warning, he intentionally swung his arm back putting his elbow into my throat at full force. At this point the ball was 30 metres away and we were not involved in play in any way.
It was, without a doubt, the most disgraceful act that I have been on the receiving end of and it came without provocation at the hands (elbow) of one of your senior Cougars B grade players. Over a week later I am still having difficulty swallowing at times.
You are very quick to go on about other dog incidents behind play so why didn't you come on here and tell us all how bad it was when your player did it unprovoked and behind play? If your club is so much better than RBE why did your coach not condemn his actions and pull the player off? (the referee and linesmen did not see the incident so rightly couldn't give him a red). At very least, why didn't the player involved (or any other player from your club for that matter) come to me at the end of the game and apologise for the actions of your player?
I am sure this bloke from your club could be a really great bloke in real life, works hard, pays his taxes and is a fine upstanding citizen. But to walk out on the field and act like that is deplorable. Funnily enough it sounds very similar to the type of thing that you are describing that some other bloke from another club was involved in. Maybe you need to name your player too and tell us his occupation? For example, if he is a roller skate technician I can get on here and rant and rave about how all roller skate technicians are wankers.
I know this is a forum and there is no credibility or consistency required, but you should really concentrate hard on the things that your players do before being too critical about players at other clubs. Otherwise it kinda just makes you look stupid.
But hey, never let ones' hypocrisy and lack of credibility get in the way of a good forum entry I guess.

Well said. It usually is the teams that are no angels themselves that complain hardest when they feel hard done by. To name that cop was a disgrace.

lol Cougars have always been an unangelic club. just do a search through FN. incident after incident. no surprises.
Re: Results - Saturday 30 June
Agree well said, had the same issue with a very obvious senior player of theirs on Saturday who was also their striker, might be the same guy. Punch in the back of the head for no reason what so ever, absolute disgrace! People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. On The Pine wrote:Mate, I don't know anyone involved or anything about any of the incidents that you are getting fairly fired up about but I thought I might add a little subplot to the proceedings.5cougarsthanx wrote:The incident I refer to is in no relation to the incident you talk of against the Vipers. On the Pine, you said the referee and linesman did not see it. So there is a possibility that our B's coach nor no one else saw it either. First we have heard of it. Apologies on behalf of our player concerned. The least he should have done was come up to you after the whistle and apologized.

Re: Results - Saturday 30 June
This is absolutely hilarious. I didn't make it out to the game on Saturday, and I have no idea what anyone is talking about, but I haven't actually seen any complaints from Comets on here, and it seems the only way the news of the events have spread is via rumours and second hand stories.
And then you have this guy, Jamie, who one would understand is a representative of Cougars, coming on here and naming a player by first and last name, and calling him out as a 'pig' - and then telling some bullshit stories about him which aren't even relevant to the weekends events?
How does this sound Jamie; Shut the fuck up, and worry about the individuals at your own club. In the end of the day, it is the responsibility of the association and the club management to discipline players, and definitely not the responsibilities of individuals from other clubs to talk shit and stir the pot.
Let it slide fellas, put away the phone books and the roll-a-dex, you're turning the league into a fucking soap opera.

What is the matter with your head 5Cougars??? Always abusing and talking shiraz ...!! You want to start re the Budapest Cougars game last year...????? ... you’ve conveniently left a the key stuff out your captain running down and king hitting a 16 year old one of the nicest cleanest and quietest boys you will find. Your keeper running 80m down the ground and king hitting Mike T hit from behind ..!!! ...... and about the no one hiding from your club that day..!!!!! what are you on tripper..??? what you mean your goal keeper who was running in kicking people from behind people then bolting off 30 meters each time (was actually funny to watch!!)... you are lucky nothing really got seriously happening ... the same guy who is lucky not to have charges laid after he through (full force) beer bottle which missed all the players and hit a BBQ where there were a large group of women and kids with glass and metal spatulers fly into them – at that point we had to restrain someone who had been standing back trying to keep out of it and I can tell you would have ripped your keeper apart ... if there was any police follow up maybe that is the basis of it.
And after all that the guy who came into our change room afterwards and after all that who said “hey we just want to be friends!!” the response was “yeah well we don’t want to be friends F .. off..!!” ... was kind of a funny moment TBH..
I actually think Cougars are an alright club with a lot of good guys there and have enjoyed speaking to you previously and have thought you are an alright guy just quit talking crap

Welcome to the discussion Mick.aussie_spud wrote:your an idiot mate, i happen to know Mick and the game last year he was hit from behind. The incident against Vipers was because a certain Viper midfielder wouldnt shake his hand so mick called him a tosser then it got out of hand and again Mick was hit from behind. both were dog acts and i beleive that when Mick confronted them both players either hid behind other team mates or ran directly into the change rooms.
People seem to talk tough on here but cant seem to make an impact on the park.

Re: Results - Saturday 30 June
Your coach may not have seen the incident intially, but I guarantee you that he knew about it and to say it is the first that anyone at your club has heard of it is insulting. The game stopped as I couldn't breathe and, not that I was paying much attention, there was a mini-melee as I was being attended to. Also quite a few of my teammates were very vocal in telling the referee what had happened so I doubt if there was a player or spectator there that didn't know what had happened.5cougarsthanx wrote:On the Pine, you said the referee and linesman did not see it. The least he should have done was come up to you after the whistle and apologized.
The parts I find most concerning is, when I continued playing and challenged him on it, he didn't even know why he did it. At first he said "you should have left him alone" (referring to the younger player who I had not been anywhere near) and then when challenged on this he wasn't really sure what to say and became dismissive. No apology. No remorse. He actually seemed to find it funny, because, you know, a casual serious assault is hilarious. Worse still, he was (at least on this day, I know it can change from week to week in the B's) your B grade captain and clearly a senior figure in the team.
I commend you on backpedalling and apologising on your earlier comments. It takes a bit of character to admit you are wrong. I also appreciate your apology. However, it would be good to see you take this incident back to your club if they truly "knew nothing about it" and have the senior figures have a word to the player. If you are unsure of the player PM me and I will tell you his name. This is the only way culture in clubs change and this is the only way bullshit incidents like this are stamped out. Just because the ref hasn't given it a red doesn't mean it doesn't require attention. He is extremely lucky I didn't press charges.
Re: Results - Saturday 30 June
The better clubs use internal discipline well, creating a culture that discourages inappropriate behaviour on and off the park. Repeat offending may indicate a failure of leadership at a club. How many clubs represented on this forum have applied an internal suspension to one of their players this year (either in addition to SAASL suspension or where the player 'got away with it')?

Interesting that exactly the same happened in our game against them. That time the ball was dead and in the back of the goal, but exactly the same with an elbow to the throat. If it's the same bloke then he must practice them to keep hitting the same place. On The Pine wrote:he intentionally swung his arm back putting his elbow into my throat at full force.
