Following a ten day trial period on Tyneside back in April, unconfirmed reports suggest that Newcastle have agreed a deal to sign Melbourne Heart defender Curtis Good.
The 19 year-old Australian youth international made 24 first team appearances for the A League side last season and a fee of 600K Aussie Dollars has been claimed, which is just less than £400K.
Good's agent Zeljko Susa told Australian journalists that:
"Discussions are ongoing and we are hopeful of a positive outcome. It would be a fantastic opportunity for Curtis to continue his football development with a successful club from one of the world's best leagues."
Good heads off to Indonesia this weekend with Australia's U20 side. They face a hectic schedule of five games in ten days as part of their bid to qualify for the Asian Football Confederation U22 Championship.
Good is also anticipated to be part of the U19 Socceroos who will contest the AFC Championship this November in the United Arab Emirates.
Curtis Good is he?
