Superb performance, had everything, great workrate for the team, multiple attempts at goal, great header.

Lesson for all defenders: Pretend you're a forward and attack the frickin ball. Just make sure you head it away from goal though

There have been a number of players that have been more impressive in this tournament. He's put in consecutive top performances, but as I say, numerous players have impressed me in each and every game.

I was just selecting three he asked for. Gomez and Gerrard have both indeed been more impressive as well. Add Ozil to it too, he hasn't notched up any goals or assists, but he makes the Germans tick. Pure class is the only way I could describe him.

I can only assume he meant in terms of goals/assists. His performances have still been top class.

I was simply proving there were more than three tbh.

Alot of players have had great tournaments, The Euro, and the Copa America always brings out the best football matches.

Well that's another issue entirely.

Ronaldo is the second best footballer on the planet. But that's not what this topic is about.

1 trick show pony who spends most off his time on the floor claiming free kicks,
Best player my arse.

How many free kicks has he twatted over the bar then pulled a gurn towards the cameras?

Hope someone breaks his legs to be honest, couldn't lace Messi's boots.
The young boys said unto him....."go up baldhead, go up"......so he did, rose like a salmon and nodded the ball into the net......1 nil! :-)

Ronaldo has played well the last 2 games...out of 4. That's only 50% performance rate!?
Ronaldo went sadly missing against Germany. He has gone missing in many big games before.
He has missed half a dozen very good chances so far. Like Benzema, Rooney, Toivenen and Ozil (not the only ones) this is not good enough for players at this level. Scoring goals when you're supposed to doesn't make you "best player of a tournament".
Stepping up when you're country needs you is what makes a player great. Several players including Ronaldo have done this so far in particular games; so we will see what the semi finals reveal.

Unfortunately, players who score goals seem to win man of the match 75% of the time. That's what forwards are supposed to do, and midfielders to some extent.

Other players who have played well in my opinion are:
Group A
Peter Cech, K papadopoulos, Salpingidis

Group B
Andersen, Agger, C Poulsen, Hummels, Van see Vaart (not enough game time IMO), Pepe, Moutinho, Ronaldo

Group C
Mandzukic (better conversion rate than most), Chiellini, Marchisio, Cassano, Casillas, Alonso, Alba, Iniesta

Group D
Lescott, Gerrard, Ribery, Mellberg, Yarmalenko

Hummels, Pepe, Alonso and Gerrard the pick of the bunch for me so far.

Looking forward to the semi finals.
For the Game. For the World.
