We have noticed bigger crowd this year now that we are more consistant and winning on the field. Even people we havnt seen in years are coming out. Its amazing what success can breed.

Also could you have made more profit due to the fact that your cost were less for those days? haha. We alsy need to buy more when the vale or gardens are coming.

Overall Div 1 is a great- competative leauge, and all the other clubs would be striving to get into it.
Agree weather has a big part to play and how both teams are performing. The East game this year had a small crowd by both clubs.

In regards to profit, the income from the Grove game was bigger than the Big 3 whilst the East game was after Vale. The amount we purchase for drinks we dont account for as any left over stock is obviously something we can sell during the week.

In fairness to the Grove, we had to kick them out at 8:00pm last year cause we wanted to go home

The way the Downs community reacted after last year's events and the fact that the Downs is in 50th Birthday celebration mode might also be contributing to some of the old faces popping out.
I've been able to get out there to 2 games already due to Cup tie circumstances and the Bosnia ruling !

This is due to the large crowd they bring and the amount that can be made over BBQs and Bars ect.
You are often heaning commments on hear like- thanks to the ???? supporters- "we have never sold out of BBQ", or " that was the most of??? we have ever sold"
Not saying these clubs wouldnt survive, but I think our 3 big club certainly help them be more viable and successful.

What a crock of shite that statement is

Really? I know for a fact that if is wasnt for the big crowd we get at home games it makes it a big defference to our overall year. That even includes when our home crowds are down on numbers over the last few years.

I knew this would come up. haha. What we spend the money on is our business. But as people who are invlvoed in running their club know, there are heaps more over heads than just player stocks.

Why does the league need a competitive Macedonia ????? Yes they were successful many years ago
But.... Will they bring in extra money for the league???
Will they bring new players to the league?????
I think not
Let's not live in the past but let's look forward to the clubs that bringing some exciting football but also growth into our game .....
unbelievable post...whether the league needs a competetive Macedonia or not is irrelevant however i wasnt aware the competition was about making money for the league....The club pays its dues just like any other :clown: New players to the league  we have 20 new players this year...how many new ones have noarlunga brought in???? As for exiting football your lot wouldnt even come close even though some of our results of late havent justified the standard of play but you werent refering to results....Too right about moving forward though and i would say the knights got the better deal......
Didn't quite have enough players for the C's last week though :(
Sorry Jay we can sign them up feed them every wed and friday and provide them with a place to enjoy their chosen sport but we cant make them show up if they choose not to.....there are plenty of players however that doesnt always translate to plenty of commitment....especially now its cold

For some we are like the SALVO's, they come training to get a feed but do not come on Sunday to worship and participate in our great game. The 300 always put on a great BBQ at training.

In regards to clubs paying people "BIG WAGES' has anybody asked the members of these so called 'RICH CLUBS' what they think of the situation. If the members aren't happy with whats being paid then they would say something wouldn't they??? I don't see too many people from the Vale, Gardens, Downs coming on here jumping up and down saying "I paid $50 membership, $5 a beer, $5 a Hamburger and this guy just plays and gets $150 a week, it's not fair"... You know why, cos they are happy to see this happen... So when all members are happy & club is run in the Black what is the big issue with a club paying people what the club can afford???? And don't reply with the 'STOCK STANDARD' 'ITS AMATEURS' as player payments have been happening since the inception of this league... Just ask the old INTER boys...
WHY DO THEY CALL IT OVALTINE? I MEAN ITS ROUND, WHY DONT THEY CALL IT ROUNDTINE.

What's the big issue?

If a club is run well enough to be able to pay players then good on them.

End of the day if you're wanting class players lining up for you, it's going to cost money.

Or you can close the wallet all together and be content with what you got and leave it to the others to chase silverware.

I went and saw the Noarlunga V Stingrays games. The B's played shortened halves, maybe 25 or 30 minutes, couldnt hit the target with any shots and the ones that hit the target were straight at the keeper.

Second half the coach brought on a little chubby feller and they basically dominated from there. I think it was 6 or 7 in the last 15-20 minutes? In hindsight he couldve brought on the chubby fella earlier, but you could see the kid wouldnt have run out 30 minutes!

Then out come the A's for Noarlunga. Stingrays send out more or less the same 11, including a guy who sat in the centre of the park and didnt leave the centre circle all game. The game was won before they went on the pitch, I left when Noarlunga brought on McLovin and people just went nuts every time he got near the ball. when that kid comes on in an A's game and you are still scoring freely, thats a pretty poor Stingrays side.

Still, all credit to Stingrays. Ive seen teams walk off after being down by 10 at halftime. They came back out and kept trying. Despite the scoreline the game was played in good spirits by both sides.

It was a little fella that was as round as he was tall. Ive only seen a little bit of them and its the first time Ive seen him.

I have no idea which one is bloodypassit. Im going to assume he is overweight and say yes, yes it was him.

the reason why the B grade game was reduced was of a delayed start to a FFSA juniors game ... the ref in this game knew when the SAASL game started but the world does revovle around him ...

to all of those that are involved down south im sure you know who this person is
