Who has more jurisdiction, the law of the land or some corrupt nobodies in a foreign country?

They're not corrupt, they're not in a foreign country (to me) and they're certainly not nobodies.

Why would Rangers having a transfer embargo lifted see Celtic kicked out of Europe?

It's the same as the situation that happened in switzerland. FIFA have told the SFA that the ban should stand. If the SFA are unable to (which surely they are as the court over rules them) then a punishment on offer is to withdraw all scottish teams from international competition.

In that case FC Sion appealed successfully that Swiss FA's choice to not nominate them for European Competition was against the law, and Sion were attempting to get reinstated into the Champions/Europa League, due to a ruling by UEFA that players played in the competition (I believe it was a Champions League/Europa League qualifying match) were signed during a transfer embargo. The Swiss court ruled that the players had not been signed during a transfer embargo, and the result of the match stood. However, to get around this, FIFA/UEFA threatened Switzerland with kicking all its teams out of European competition, so the Swiss FA chose not to nominate Sion for European competition.

Here, the penalty is independent from the decision to not nominate Rangers for European competition, which is a result of them entering Administration and not paying football debts.

hmmm yes one would have to be nominated for europe in order to get teams kicked out

and also fifa is angered by rangers decision to use civil courts and expects more actions and the embargo to stand

With the club in administration and on brink of collapse why would any player go to Rangers anwa? In addition with no cash it would be free transfers only.

completely wrong. FC Sion played in European competition (against Celtic, coincidentally) and were banned after Celtic appealed them fielding ineligible players. were certainly nominated by Swiss FA for European competition. Swiss FA were asked by FIFA/UEFA to sanction Sion, and they were, in the Swiss Super League. been reading the Telegraph again?

Rangers look to have gone in their present guise. HMRC have declined any agreements to the present Rangers will have to be liquidated and reformed as a new company. Not sure what assets the new company will be left with though.

The ground and training facilities are basically worthless as they are only allowed to be used for football. Presumably, all players are now without contracts.

Rangers 2012 will be able to buy the training and ibrox for a pittance, walk straight back into the SPL and get new players and be debt free.

They'll be in a stronger position than they were last season. The fenians must be gutted.

Someone from Rangers said that if the players don't go to the new company they would be voiding their contracts and liable to law suits

Are their contracts with the company or the club?

eg. Millwall Holdings (the company) could go under but if Millwall FC existed then their contracts would still be valid.

However, have they been paid? After 2 months (I think) then they are entitled to walk away from their contracts.

It shouldn't even go to a vote. Any new club should be starting from the bottom.

Motherwell have stated they are going to lose out whatever way the vote goes and they will struggle, many clubs Supporters clubs are promising to boycott any club that does not vote against letting them back into Premier League.

Inverness have stated they have been flooded with emails from vans requesting that 'integrity' is the sole factor in the clubs vote.

Couple of players are already fighting that they cannot have their contacts moved from 'old' Rangers to 'Newco' Rangers. McCoist wants a meeting with the players to see who else does not want to stay. Meanwhile all those who received ridiculous payments from Murray etc sit back in their Central Scotland Estates drinking their single malts in their slippers.

Have said it before I do feel sorry for the decent Rangers supporters who do not sing about being up to their knees in anything but I sincerely hope that all clubs do the right thing when it comes to the vote on 4th July.
