Final score in Cumby V Toros game
4 - 0

Cumby should have had about 10 but kept missing some easy opportunities and some good goalkeeping by the Toro's keeper. Cumby were in control for pretty well most of the game although in the second half Toro's made some inroads through the Cumby defence. After missing 5 attempts on the trot, over halfway through the second half, Cumby finally netted one. Full credit to Toro's who never gave up.

Fulham 3 Uni 4

Cracking game. Uni scored opener in the 3rd minute, then Fulham started taking control of the game, playing some fantastic football, full of quick movement and team work and pulled back a goal, then scored another 2 quickly to go 3-1 up at half time.

Second half Uni put on a lot of pressure and played quiet direct, having Fulham push back a bit and about 60min mark pulled on back to make it 3-2. Final 30mins fulham look super dangerous on the counter attack, playing very slick football and had numerous opportunities to seal the game. In the 90th minute a fulham play was put through went around the keeper and a dubious offside call was made, from where i was she was clearly 3 metres onside.

From then Uni had two set pieces pushed everyone into the box, from scrambling effort scored 2 in the last two minutes to seal it.

Was a fantastic game, I must say Fulham full deserved to get something from it, credit to Uni for fighting it out to the end.

Quality game, on a sour note, for the match of the round not to have 3 match officials was a concern. From what i saw today Fulham certainly a a wonderfully young and exciting team, that play some of the best football I have seen this year.

Saw David Edmonson at the game and hopefully he is starting to see some quality players that could help Adelaide United in the upcoming season.

Womans football is certainly looking up if that the quality that is being produced week in week out.

was watching the fulham vista game on the other pitch and uni went nuts when they scored the last 2, sounded like they just won the world cup, keeper running the length of the pitch was classic

Nice summary of the game Neyma but Uni had an off-side decision against them in the last couple of minutes, but there was no protest from the sideline, unlike Fulham and for an FFSA employee to call a Referee 'An Friuty Disgrace' is incomprehensible and should not be tolerated by anybody; Player, Parent, Club or FFSA. Fulham lost because of the 2 free kicks they gave away outside the box which Uni capitalised on.

The Referees have hard enough job without FFSA employees putting pressure on them.

We don't define other coaches by their day jobs- when the Fulham coach is on that sideline, he's the Fulham coach. He's not special because his day job is running outreach clinics for the FFSA. He's passionate about his team- it's what we want in women's football.

What I meant to say is that if he behaved inappropriately, it shouldn't be judged more so because he runs development clinics for FFSA. I wasn't there, didn't see. Inappropriate behavior is inappropriate behavior, FFSA employee or no.

Junior, don't confuse passion for ignorance. With the amount of "Respect" paraphernalia displayed this year, you would think that a person employeed by the State govering body and more so, surrounded by this "Marketing/Education" campaign on a daily basis, should have/shown a little of it; don't you think?Perhaps if he disagreed with a decision, he should take it up privately with the official. Not mouth of at the end of the game within earshot of everyone. That's all anyone from that team will talk about, they will blame the official for their loss, not the way they played or how the opposition played/out played them.

Passion is one thing: poor sporting behaviour is another. This is what the FFA is trying to eradicate, especially against Referee's.
Plenty of people on here, not just the Women's, but the entire forum, bag the Referee's and it seems to be OK/accepted/Par for the course. Well the governing body has a differing opinion and an EMPLOYEE OF SUCH should adhere to these guidelines as well, if not up-hold them in the least!! Is that too much to ask for??

There was a reaction yes, at the time of that decision, and after the game i did see this same person go straight upto to both Uni coaches and shake there hand and congratulate them.

From where I was sitting as a neutral person at this game, the reaction wasn't to the referee it seemed, yet maybe to the Unbiased club linesman who flagged the decision once the player had rounded the keeper. Decision are decisions, and that is football.

Uni did very well to come back, however to come and personally attack an individual who's manner on the side for ninety minutes showed nothing but respect for opposition and referee. I wrote the report as a neutral trying to give positive outlook on womans football, and as always someone looking for a negative on what was a magnificent game.

I think enjoy your victory with grace, as fulham also have to accept there defeat.

The ' Referee ' who made the offside call against Fulham near the end of the game was a Uni. players boyfriend ...
1. if you volunteer to do the line in a Prem's game you should know the rules ( or be willing to up hold them ! )
2. The head referee should have been ( was ) in a good enough position to see that it was 2-3 Meters from being offside and overruled.

Uni played the last 10 minutes well and its not the players fault the way the result played out , but anyone at that game could see why the coach of Fulham would have been disappointed with the linesman ( cheating ) making a bad call,
and with the head referee not doing his job .
it would have made it 4-2 and very difficult for Uni to salvage a point and almost impossible to win...

Massive win by PH vs the State Team! They were first on the table until not long ago, great result for Para Hills :)
Para Hills lost a few tight games with much bigger clubs when they actually deserved more, it's good to see they are setting their record straight! It will be hard for everyone now to face Para Hills!

Adelaide Airport Premier League Wrap - Round 6
by Caitlin Keenan

Adelaide University secured their fifth consecutive win after defeating Fulham United 4-3 in a nail-biting Round 6 Adelaide Airport Premier League match at Collins Reserve on Sunday.

Fluham dominated the first half and led 3-1 at the break, but a late surge from Uni proved to be too much for the hosts as Uni netted three times after half time.

Fulham coach Geoff Hargreaves said the team did well in the first half and the defence played well despite being under immense pressure.

“I thought we played well, we played our style, we played the ball quick,” he said.

“The score-line reflected the domination we had in that first half. We knew Uni would come out in the second half and put pressure on us. The progression that we’ve shown is great.”

Hargreaves admitted there were plenty of positives to take away from the match but his side still has a lot to learn after coughing up a two-goal lead.

“I think that we’re a team which is very much capable of beating anyone in this league. We’ll learn from this and improve. I’m very proud to work with these players,” he said.

Adelaide University coach Tracey Jenkins said it didn’t feel like they were 3-1 down at half time and after creating so many opportunities in the first half she knew her side would be able to back it up in the second.

Jenkins admitted her side really pulled together during break and planned their attack for the second half.

“It was a close game, both teams played well,” she said.

“Fulham were unlucky. We created so much. I still knew we’d come back though. It was a good game and we showed heart again.”

“We talked about what we wanted to do and we knew we’d done it last week.”

Uni opened the scoring when Laura Johns slipped through defence and sent a powerful shot into the back of the net in the opening stages of play.

But it was Fulham who dominated from then on and equalised not long after.

Georgia Macri side stepped the Uni defence and fired rocket from the top of the 18 yard box before Isabell Hodgson put Fulham in front with a brilliant solo effort.

Fulham’s constant barrage of shots from in and around the 18 yard box were a constant threat and Louise Tiani eventually nailed the hosts’ third.

She managed to find the back of the net under immense pressure from the Uni defence with her sweet shot from the edge of the box sailing into the top corner.

After the break Adelaide Uni came out firing as both teams missed opportunities early in the second half.

Fulham in particular lacked their aggression from the first half and failed to convert their chances as Uni also failed to capitalise on the few opportunities they had until late in the half.

Racheal Quigley pulled a goal back for Uni tapping in a rebound after Fulham keeper Courtney Allen had blocked the initial shot.

Moments later, Quigley equalised when she got her head to a superb cross in from the wing.

It wasn’t until the final stages of the match that Uni edged in front to clinch maximum points.

Jenna McCormick stole the winner after she picked up a loose ball on the edge of the area and let fly with a power drive that left Allen no chance in Fulham’s goal.
