Marek Hamsik is confident that Napoli can challenge for the Scudetto next season after beating Juventus in the Italian Cup Final.

Hamsik made the game safe in Rome on Sunday when his late goal ensured a 2-0 victory for the Azzurri against the League champions.

“Napoli can fight for the title next season,” the Slovakian’s agent, Juraj Venglos, told Radio CRC on Monday afternoon. “Marek believes that can happen.

“Sure, there are strong clubs such as Milan and Juventus who they’ll have to take on, but nothing is impossible in football.”

Hamsik extended his contract at Napoli until June 2016 in April and he has no intention of moving on before that date.

“Nothing has changed after Cup success,” the representative continued. “Hamsik will stay in Naples, a place where he can become a symbol of this team.”

While Hamsik will stay, it looks like Ezequiel Lavezzi is on the verge of an exit.

Javier Zanetti has welcomed fellow Argentine Rodrigo Palacio to Inter. “He is a great champion and will give his contribution to the side.”

Genoa President Enrico Preziosi announced a deal was in place for the striker to join the Nerazzurri this summer.

“He is a champion and will give his contribution to the side,” captain Zanetti told Inter Channel.

“In the last few days we have welcomed back some young lads, like Coutinho and Jonathan, and are already working on next season.

“Then we’ll have our summer vacation and therefore the new campaign to prepare for, with its many commitments.”

looks like Inter arent chasing Lavezzi, anymore...

As Inter directors note Ezequiel Lavezzi “would make a mistake” not joining them, Manchester United enter the fray for the Napoli hitman.

Lavezzi is one of the hottest properties on the transfer market this summer, wanted by Manchester City, Anzhi and Paris Saint-Germain.

According to the latest reports from Talksport, Manchester United are also joining the race to sign Pocho, who has a €32m buy-out clause in his contract.

Inter were the favourites, but appear to have been overtaken by Paris Saint-Germain in recent weeks.

“Lavezzi is a great player, but if I speak highly of him then his price-tag will rise further,” joked Inter director Marco Tronchetti Provera.

“If he wants to come to Inter then we’d be happy to welcome him, but if he doesn’t want to join us then that is his mistake and he’s free to make it.”

and Inter are whom exactly? U tosser......

Pescara’s Lorenzo Insigne says he’ll only return to parent club Napoli if he is given a fair chance to compete for a starting shirt.

Napoli chief Aurelio De Laurentiis has praised the player over the last few days which has fuelled suggestions that he will be recalled to the Stadio San Paolo.

The Italian Under-21 international, however, won’t be rushed into making a decision about his future following Pescara’s promotion.

“I thank the President for his words, but I think cautiously,” the forward told Radio Kiss Kiss. “I still have one game left to play with Pescara, then I’ll think about the future.

“I don’t know whether I will stay here for another year,” he added. “At the end of the season the two clubs will talk.

“I’m not expecting to be guaranteed a starting shirt at Napoli, but I would want to be considered the same as all the other players at the club. If that wasn’t the case then I’d prefer to stay here.

“I’d like to be considered on the same level as the other attackers and not just as a youngster who needs to grow.”

Insigne, 18 Serie B goals this season, has worked with boss Zdenek Zeman for the last two campaigns now after their spell together at Foggia too

Strange that no transfer rumours or offers have come in for Maggio.

With the last few season he has had i thought someone would have tried to headhunt him for his services?

$260 from each Neapolitan citizen would capture the signing of Messi from Barcelona's 250m buyout clause.

Messi and Cavani up front. Wow

Lavezzi will almost certainly be gone soon, take the cash & some more if necessary and throw it at Fiorentina for Jovetic.

Kolarov's name being mentioned, would be a step up in quality from Dossena.
Man City are trying to use him in a part exchange to lure Dani Alves from Barca.

Mazzarri & Delaurentis set for their usual "crisis" talks.
Not likely, but I think it would be disastrous to lose Mazzarri now.

Edinson Cavani laughed off reports linking him with Juventus. “The Coppa Italia is simply the start for Napoli. I know how the media game goes.”

The striker was decisive in their campaign, which saw them lift their first piece of silverware for 22 years.

Ezequiel Lavezzi appears to be on his way out of the San Paolo and it was rumoured Cavani would follow with the likes of Juventus, Chelsea and Manchester City showing an interest.

“The Coppa Italia is simply the start for Napoli so that we can do even better next year,” he told the Corriere dello Sport.

“I read the stories about me and the transfer market, but I know how the media game goes. It’s part of the sport and of my job, but I don’t listen to the rumours, nor do they annoy me.

“Besides, when I am on vacation I dedicate myself to my family and try to recharge my batteries so I can keep giving great moments of joy to the Napoli fans.”

Andrea Dossena’s agent confirms he discussed the Napoli winger’s future with Milan, although “there has not been a formal offer.”

The wide man has struggled for playing time at the San Paolo this season and also struggled with injury.

“I had contact with Adriano Galliani as I also represent Stephan El Shaarawy, but inevitably we also talked about Dossena,” Roberto La Florio told Radio Sport 24.

“There has not been a formal offer, as we just discussed things.”

Dossena turns 31 in September and joined Napoli in January 2010 after a disappointing two-year spell at Liverpool

Edinson Cavani’s agent has warned there will be a meeting with Napoli next week, after which he can “be more precise on the future.”

The striker has reiterated he intends to stay at the San Paolo next season after winning the Coppa Italia.

However, there is interest from the likes of Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid.

“Next week we can certainly be more precise on the future of the lad,” agent Claudio Anellucci told Ilsussidiario.net.

“First of all we have to meet and talk things over. Until I receive new orders, I cannot say absolutely anything.”

Cavani is currently on international duty with Uruguay.

Please NO to Rubentus, Chelsea or Real!!

Mazzarri has agreed to stay and in fact his contract will be extended by a year - this according to the SSC Napoli website.

This must mean that De Laurentiis will give him the presnts he wanted - apparently 4 players.

Hopefully Jovetic, Cissokho (Lyon), a good Centre Mid and Benatia or Bocchetti at the back, plus bring Insigne back please!!!

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed he is “in perfect sync” with Coach Walter Mazzarri for next season and beyond.

The patron met with his tactician this evening and spoke to the official club website.

“I am very satisfied,” said De Laurentiis. “We talked for a long time and covered 360 degrees, analysing the season that has just concluded and laying the foundations for planning the next.

“We are in perfect sync to make all the moves that can lay the foundations for a campaign that will be both positive and satisfying.

“I also began negotiations with Mazzarri to prolong the contract for another year.”

Cristian Ledesma and Walter Gargano will remain with Lazio and Napoli respectively, their agent has underlined.

Ledesma has recently been paired with Premiership champions Manchester City, while the Uruguayan will continue to have a role for boss Walter Mazzarri in Naples.

“City boss Roberto Mancini likes Ledesma, but he’ll stay at Lazio,” Vincenzo D’Ippolito told Radio Mana Mana.

“It’s the same story every year, but Cristian has made a life decision and he wants to stay in Rome. I think he’ll end his career with Lazio.

“Gargano? The decision to keep Mazzarri means that it is now very unlikely that Gargano could move on. He’s vital for the Azzurri. I’m 99.9 per cent sure that he’ll remain.”

Argentine-born Italian international Ledesma, 29, scored three goals in 37 League games this term. Gargano, 27, netted twice in 33 Serie A ties

Everton fight to keep £20m-rated Baines at Goodison Park as Napoli lurk

Napoli are showing interest in Everton and England left back Leighton Baines.

The 27-year-old has been linked with Manchester United this summer but Everton insist they have yet to have any contact from Sir Alex Ferguson or David Gill.

Everton value Baines at around £20million and do not want him to leave. The valuation is likely to deter Napoli, who want Baines as a replacement for Andrea Dossena, who is talking to AC Milan.

A replacement for Dossena & at least 1 if not 2 defenders are vital.

Dossena out - targets Baines, Cissokho, Amero are all better alternatives in that order.

Realistic options for the defence - Zapata, Silvestre, Peluso, Capuano could be attainable. Forget the likes off Ivanovic.

If we could add Jovetic for life after Pocho id be wrapped but ive got a feeling we will see a lot more of Pandev instead.

Then maybe a central midfielder, if thats not asking too much? Tymoshuk from Bayern on the cheap maybe, as its obvious Mazzarri wants nothing to do with Cigarini.

Napoli “have made inquiries” after Cristian Ansaldi, confirmed his agent, but they are waiting for a response from Rubin Kazan.

The Argentine wingback can play on the left or the right, has been in Russia since 2008 and is still only 25 years old.

“He is an important player who is among the most reliable in that area of a team,” agent Stefano Caira told Radio Crc.

“There is interest from Napoli, because they have made inquiries after my client. However, we have to wait and see what Rubin Kazan’s intentions are.

“Unfortunately so far the price-tag has frightened off other clubs as well as Napoli. Ansaldi would gladly come to the San Paolo.

“Now the Partenopei are an important European club and, for a player with such clear Italian origins, it can’t help but be a good solution for him.”

Today Napoli reinforced their squad by making Goran Pandev’s loan move from Inter into a permanent deal.

Goran Pandev has revealed why he took a pay cut to make his move permanent. “Other clubs wanted me, but I love Napoli.”

The striker was on loan from Inter this season and today completed the transfer worth €7.5m, accepting a wage reduction to help the deal go through.

“I thank President Aurelio De Laurentiis. Money aside, I wanted to remain here at all costs, just as my family did,” the Macedonian told Radio Marte.

“There were other clubs who wanted me, but I always had Napoli as my primary objective, as I love this side.

“I have never found such a united and strong squad, so that was the main reason. Now we’re going to have some fun, as I hope to continue doing well and winning with this club.

“The Coppa Italia victory was greeted the same way as if we’d won the Champions League. I daren’t imagine what would happen if we lifted other trophies!

“I’ve won a lot of silverware, but the Coppa Italia with Napoli was truly special and I experienced emotions I’ve never had in my life.

“Unfortunately, we threw away our qualification for the Champions League and our fans really deserved that tournament. Now we must prepare for the Italian Super Cup against Juventus.

“I can only thank Coach Walter Mazzarri, who wanted at all costs that I remain at Napoli,” continued Pandev.

“I can say with certainty that I am in love with Napoli and will end my career at the San Paolo at the age of 33. I’m happy the fans welcomed my contract renewal.”

The forward turns 29 in July.

Why? Only thing wrong with it is the 20M their asking for & possibly the difficulty he would have in adapting to the city.
If the price was right, he would be a welcome addition for mine.

Apparently Vargas looked good, just lacking a goal.

Set up Pandev's opener with a deft touch.

I will be happy to close out the transfer campaign with Floccari, Armero and another centre back to replace Aronica who should be sold to somebody please.
