Western Strikers Cs are not really part of western strikers!

Their Cs team doesn't get help from the Bs. they have a shirt that says western strikers but the don't stand for or provide any benefit to wester strikers.
Didn't realize you were that close to our club? You may know some of the players as many of them have played at WC over the years but I dispute your claim that b's players haven't helped the C's team this season. From the few games we have played at least 6-7 players from either of the other two teams have filled in and helped.
What benefits do a C grade provide a club, support the bar, buy food, pay rego fees, assist the higher grades if needed etc. All of which our boys have contributed to thus far.
The C grade squad are a group of friends who have come to our club this year and we are happy to have them, it is our clubs job to ensure they enjoy the facilities, the people and of course the football. We can then build on the numbers of club members we have.
Last w/end 5 reserves players were in the first team squad which contributed to the forfeit in the C's.[/quote]

**Sorry A.V.N.M, but i have to agree with Beograd General....they did the same thing at the Vikings when i was there... they are like a circus side show... they roll up to a club in the Western suburbs, play for a season or two, take/ try to take players from the existing club then move along to the next club like a whirl wind.
As for the "money over the bar and rego fees" thats what they promise but never deliver...they played and took off after the game and was always a struggle to get rego fees ( so i was told) some did step up and play a game or two in the A's or B's... They have also thinned out in numbers over the years but were bolsted by securing a large contingent of Vikings ( the Scottish/English clan) and taking off for the Strikers. regardless, good luck to the Strikers for taking them and have fun with it, especially when they all have a christening or Birthday and/or a away game which is too far away.... lets see where they will be next year!
IMO, they are better off going to play over 35's.

Sounds a bit Bitter Go you reds? A bit harsh on the C team during their time at the Vikings. I am pretty sure they made their intentions clear when they originally decided to come to the club that they wanted to play football and not have the responsabilites of running a club which the Vikings entertained and invited them in.
In their first season (2010) they won the league and enjoyed their time and I am sure the Vikings liked what they brought . In their second season (2011) they forfeited at least 5 games at the end of the season as 4-5 of them helped out the Vikings first team try to avoid relegation due to lack of playing numbers. To me that shows true character of that C's playing group that they were their to assist the club avoid relegation and not a "circus side show" as you claim. I would say the 6 or so players that weren't able to step up and help and that paid their full rego fees to have their season cut short by 5 or so games would potentially have had an influence on why they left the Vikings?
In regards to your comment of their numbers being bolstered by a large contingent of Vikings ( the Scottish/English clan) are you sure you have that the correct way around? My understanding is John C is good friends with Adam W who he brought to the club for the C's who inturn brought his friends Fraser, Scottish Dave & Craig, don't think any of those lads had an association with the Vikings prior to that and have such followed their mates to a new club as there was obviously not anything driving them to stay at the Vikings.
As for the lads not staying at The Strikers next year, that may be the case however as I mentioned in my previous post " it is our clubs job to ensure they enjoy the facilities, the people and of course the football. We can then build on the numbers of club members we have"

Thanks for clearing that up ( AVNM), like i said, i wasnt around the club much last year and not sure what arrangements they had with the committee but was only stating what i saw in MY opinion. They are all great guys, especially the Scottish boys, i understand playing with mates hence why i left also.... no ill feelings or bitterness, just continuing on from Beograd Generals post as i thought he summed it up perfectly.
Good luck to them and where ever they find themselves next season.... hope you can make a come back to coaching as you are wasted as a director of coaches. :D

I would be VERY surprised if they are there next year.

Unless you top up about 7-8 players for that C team.

If their intentions is to come down for a season use your facilities, play and then pi$$ off.. then thats what you got.
  • Their criteria even that they didnt want to put up or take off the nets
They weren't going to go to any functions
They werent going to help with catering or hospitality
    They didnt care about training
I guess if you get some rego money out of it.. atleast you got something!

Thats exactly our intentions, grow the club by growing the numbers, if some or all of them stay in 2013 fantastic, if we can add to the playing numbers regardless next year it will help us acheive our goals. They attended presentation over the 2 years at Vikings, they attended quiz nights at the Vikings.
Currently they contribute what we expected from them at the Strikers. As you know it's not easy getting numbers in the Western Suburbs for any new club (we are only 4 yrs old as an Amateur club). From memory you once had a C's team as well?
Time will tell, we will be judged by if we can have a c's team in 2013

I struggle to understand how any of you can even argue over this one, especially a Gardens Supporter?
Not always example...,

Played 18 won 14 lost 4 = 42 points
Played 18 won 13 lost 0 Drawn 4 = 43 = Winners despite winning less games

Caretaker Coach wrote:I saw the Grove play in a pre season trial game, all young kids, with a lot of endeavour and with some talent. They reminded me very much of the young Para Hills East team of the early 80's,just before they became dominant - give these kids time, and if they stay together, will do very well in 2-3 years imo.

So if docherty or knox or whoever else gwts injured Who do the grove have coming up through the ranks than? I know gaje ferdinands is definately one to keep an eye on..

late eighties..........then came dominance!!!!!

It was early 80's when we played them in a cup round we won about 5-2 ( we were div 3 ) they were only new, a young side in div 5, showed a lot of endeavour, had some skilful players. Thought they were going to do well if they stuck together, and they did.

the para hills east side that won the title 92,93,94 would of only had probably 1 player? from that div 5 side(most would have been in the reserves by the late eighties), first team was made of players from modbury feds, para vista folded and a lot came over, one initially from rostrevor, 1 from tubemakers and 1/2 from para hills amateurs. Unfortunately the best player from para hills east in previous seasons retired and missed all the success.
things happen for a reason

Dominate
verb (used without object)
6.
to rule; exercise control;. Gardens didnt rule or control every game but won most
7.
to occupy a commanding or elevated position. At the end of the last 2 seasons they did occupy / have an elevated position

I DOMINATED the toilet this morning!
