Again you feel the need to stick the boot in your mouth, while claiming to be holier than though.

Ask the FFSA why that particular team has had the misfortune to miss out on games, while your at it go talk to the Orthodox clubs.

You guys are a sad lot.

can only call what you see and hear,....... friday night game,..junior state b team, wont say the age group as to not embarress the coach, but yet again "croydon" bring down "a" players to a "b" team to play for "top spot", round 3 mind you?......kids talk, especially when they know each other, and also upset parents at the bar.....must have been a one off?

You should change your name to s....idoldman, fits better.

Croydon only has one B team that played Friday night. Several weeks ago the team had two players move into the 14JSL squad, to improve their skills & fitness, and one player moved from the 14JSL into the 13JPL team; this was coordinated by coaches and club Football Directors. The player is being prepared to move into the 14JPL team by occassionaly training and playing up, with assistance from coaches involved. When the coaches and Football Directors think he is ready, he will move permanently into the 14JPL team. That's 3 teams in one season, if he's ready for it.

And then there is a new player joined the team a few weeks ago.

This process is happening Accross all age groups. The u17's moved 5 players up to the 19's before the season started, tonight 3 U17's trained in the 19's. The 16's have 6 u15's in the squad. Players are given the opportunity to play in different teams according to skill, fitness or injuries.

The clubs only goal is to develop players to be able to play at the highest level. To do this, the Junior system works with the Senior system. The senior Development coach goes out to junior training nights, talks to coaches and players, and liaises with the Junior Football Directors. We copy the Senior system of players moving up and down, as used by the 19's Reserves and seniors.

If you're truly wise, you'd be hungry for information and open to different ideas. Are you? Or are you bitter and just wanting to lash out at anyone, while hiding behind a screen?

A word of advice; instead of listening to a sowing circle, go to the source and ask. Come to the club, talk to me, Joe or Bill, we're more than happy to explain what the club is doing.

every year we hear the same things down there;

Club refs who are an absolute embarassment to their club
Dropping players back and forth for points
Stacking JSL teams
Rearranging games to accommodate all this

Yet at the same time Croydon have multiple teams in many age groups, so something must be good down there, either that or parents and players actually like these types of actions, because the clubs close by - Pirates/Toros/White City/Strikers all have open age groups or limited players and no Croydon players seek them out.

And every year you're quick to criticize using a small bit of info.

Come down to the club on a training night, we'll give you a guided tour and show you what we're doing.

Next Wednesday.

positive and negative, i actually stated - so something must be good down there, don't be so defensive.

At the end of the day the members vote and they sign as i said.

But these stories do come and they do not seem to come from others as often as croydon, just stating facts, facts may be false but the frequency is not.

We're not perfect, nothing ever is and there is no perfect way. We have an idea and a plan to develop kids into players for senior football. We need to work within a system that relies on volunteers and individuals. That means changing past ideas and perceptions with compromises that allows everyone to work together and things to get done.

We started on a course 3 years ago, each year we adjust and modify. This year we took the pressure off coaches to win leagues, told them that the club is happy with mid table placings. Their goal is to develop players. As players develop we slowly move them up a level, through training and then game time, and eventually permanently. We keep players and parents informed at all times, and ask for feedback.

Movement of players happens for many reasons; extra game time for players, help teams with player shortage due to injuries or player movement, discipline, player preference, etc.

This requires constant juggling, when players move up a team is weakened. So we need to try and balance this some way.

There is no conspiracy, and what you may hear about Croydon, we hear about other clubs. Last week one of our coaches was stressing out because he had heard that the team they were playing on the weekend was dropping 5 players down. I laughed; 1 because I didn't believe it, 2 so what. I believe that everyone is good, that all clubs and coaches want their juniors to develop. We just have different ways of doing it, and we're (coaches, players, parents) a competitive bunch.

every club promotes players up who deserve it, the issue is when players are dropped back down to a age group or a b team when that team is playing on a different night just to get a win?...some players sit on the bench and recieve no development while others play 2 games in 2 different teams, that particular team already had 4 on the bench!.....does that explain why parents may get pissed off.

I have no idea what you're on about, sounds like you don't either.

Strange that your the spokesperson for these parents, when you're a member of another club.

Maybe things are different at your club, at ours we encourage players and parents to talk to the coaches and/or the Football Directors.

By the way, which club do you represent?

Enjoy the season, and good luck.

The same Thing happened to us when we played the U15 Croydon team on a Friday Night

They had 4 on the bench and even had players shirt numbers 110 and 111

with sticky tape to make up the extra number on there shirt

Now thats player development by a coach or is it win win win win development

for the coaches EGO!!!!!!!!

You tell me???

AGAIN WITH THIS CRAP.....
players going up and down has been going on for centuries....players dont belong to a team they belong to THE CLUB... they can go up down and sideways...if players were elegible then no rules were broken....

coaches should use it to pump their players up to perform and push themselves rather than using it as an excuse for losing.... lets worry about our own backyards....

We are playing Croydon this fri night... where are the games played? Their main pitch or the
regular junior pitch?
